This weekend Nanticoke River / bay
 

Hopin to have the boat back together for sea trials this weekend. Prolly runnin down the nanticoke and goofn around. may make it out to the bay.

Anyone out? If you see us stop by and say wassup.

Stayed overnight on the Nanticoke last summer--very pretty area. Hope your boat runs happily...

my wifes folks have a water front place right at the mouth of the nanticoke...just above deal island. do you do alot of running around there?

do you cross the bay often? i have a wedding this summer near solomon (other side of the bay), and wondered if i can make it from solomon, over to the inlaws place in a formula 242. have you ever made that run? think i have enough boat to do it? i'm guestimating about a 30ish mile run across there....

I've run part of that combination--it should be a reasonable run for your boat as long as it is not a really windy day. You can actrually see both sides of the bay shoreline as you cross so its really pretty easy to get across. The afternoon summer winds blow from the West, so heading east is usually easier. From Solomons you cut an angle southeast across the bay towards the farthest island shoreline you can see and then hook around the south end of Hooper Island into the entrance there by the Honga River and Bloodsworth Island. Make sure to check the charts because there is some shallow water inside the Bloodsworth Island area. It's not hard, though, because the channels have markers. See chart below...
