Thats is very sick!!! Now thats old school.:evilb:
|
nice old boat with classic lines. will never go out of style. its' a nice running boat,(75-80mph) with good turn key power. It was never a race boat. it was set up like one but never intended to go racing. it was a custom order back in 1982, that boat doesn't have many hours on it.
|
ad states 102mph???
cig92, how do you know this boat? |
Wow !!
|
i've driven the boat.
|
the motors are merc cyclones. innovation marine built them i believe, (for mercury). they have never been apart and have a claimed hp of 490. i was also told they were only 400 hp. if that boat goes 102 mph on 400ish hp that would be the most efficient hull i have ever seen on a true 32ft boat. that boat is not light either, it was an extra 1000 bucks back in 1982 for kevlar and the owner opted to go with regular glass. he also told mid. exp. that if the boat didn't go 85 mph he didn't want it! i don't think the boat ever went that fast but it runs strong, solid and smooth.

did this boat have a wing on the back? there are 2 miami vice episodes that have a boat like that or that same boat: one was The Great Mccarthy and the other episode I cant remember the name......Those midnights are real nice...there was one here in coral gables/ miami that sat behind a house for many years but no longer there but I believe that one had speedmasters....
|
how you see the boat in the pics now is exactly how it was in 1982. never had a wing. the only thing different is the red seats, they used to be silver. the boat is as original and complete as is gets. the boat was delivered to wilson NY in 1982 and has been here eversince the gentelman from PA bought it (2006 or 2007). I'm sure he still has the original target trailer that went with the baot.
|
Man, that thing is so clean for original its scary.
cig92, so you liked how the boat ran? |
liked it very much. Everyone including the original owner said it was hard to get on plane and not so easy around the docks, not true. it came on plane easy, shifted easy, turned and docked easy. it is the arneson boat i have ever driven and i can only say good things about it. the one negative is that they are only #6 units, (chain driven and small internals.) they were only rated for around 500 hp max. the first owner who logged maybe 50 hours on it in 15 yrs broke both drives. the boat was sent to lake x in 1982 before shipping it to ny for a "dial in". they broke one of the drives there before they could even get a top speed #. they fixed the drive and sent it on its way without finishing the test.

That hull looks like a stretched 27 mag...........Very,very cool boat......Wish i could con the wife into another 3 man boat but i doubt it..........That thing is killer....

I'd love to build a new one setup like this or yours. |
that boat is built like a tank. that boat will run in just about anything, the weak link is the arneson #6's.
