barging in on Brians question, we are looking at buying a place down there, but as I am finding the whole slip issue is a pain in the ass. Since you can't have anyhting over a 30ft slip at a house and most of the marinas are setup for bass boats with 10x24s I am thinking that my housing location is going to be dependant on slip location  I am used to LOTO and how easy they make it to have a larger slip.

With that said what marinas have yearly slips for rent in a minimum 12 x 38 size? and where on th elake are they. We are looking at houses between KC and Campbell point in that area

THANKS

Christian :drink:

waiting to read these responses! :party-smiley-004:
the only other one i know of between kc & campbell point is baxter, but its really small.

i think it will be better for me to convince my parents to sell their house on table rock & buy someting at loto. lol.

another F'd up thing is if you look at the slip sizes for larger boats, they are 14, 15, or 16' in width. most used 12/14k lb lifts are for 10-12' wide slips. :angry-smiley-055:

I dont know guys....check all the big marinas. You can get lucky in finding a house with a large slip, but yes, the situation sucks. Why the f*ck do you think Im stuck with a 27' boat........to bad I like this lake that much. You will too.

Suck it up fellas! :evilb: I put my 33 in a 28' slip.

We do what we have to do. I don't imagine a public marina would let you do this, but I am in a private dock.

I have also seen a few larger slips for sale. Been a month or so ago since I looked, and they were real proud of them too.

does the corp or the dock watchman (cant think of their "official" name) harass you w/ it sticking out?

yeah last i heard the 30' slips were going for a nice chest of coins, cant imagine what the very few larger ones command.

cause you are smarter than me. :)

i like the lake, but slowly beginning to prefer loto better. its a little closer & more to do (& see). But the free place to stay sure makes it hard to pass up trl.

There are ways around the rules. Apply for an overhang/roof extension. Many times you can get the roof extended several feet while maintaining the same "slip" length.

Yeah...thats a goofy deal. I think 30 x 14 is max size private slip now available. Who the f*ck has a boat that is 14 feet wide and only 30 feet long? I did ask the corps girl becky if I could substitute 4 feet on the width for 4 more feet in length and she, of course, said no way. She also said that no part of the roof can hang more than 30 ft. If you have a 28 or 24 ft slip and want your roof extended to 30ft they have to come measure the distance in between your dock and next one...if applicable. It sucks, but oh well......at least the water is super clean, unlike LOTO.
