All right guys, we are heading down 9/13. There better not be a big chain across the road that says closed when we get there!

A few questions; where is it that I'm actually going? Are there ramps all over, or a certain area I should head? It's a loooong lake right? Should I call around to find a condo/hotel for rent w/ a slip. I'll bring free beer for all who can help:p

With a 353 you're gonna need a good ramp. Take 54 South about 2 miles south/west of the Grand Glaize Bridge left turn into State Park. PB2 = Public Beach 2. Good ramps stay to the west side of them with a 353. Cirlcled area in green is the state park. The X is entrance turn-off from 54. Small circle is the ramps. Other large circle is the location of some easy access hotels. :sport009:

This is one place to start to look for a condo. Check the mile marker. The ramps are at the Grand Glaise 2mm which dumps into the main channel at the Osage 19mm. So many options...

Like Griz said, use Public Beach #2. The actual building is now only open on Friday and Sunday to take your money if you want to store the trailer there. I pulled out Tues after Labor Day and they had signs up. They have an honor box to pay the $7 launch in/out fee for the ramp.

PB2 is by far the besty ramp in the area. Do not use water front hotel ramps, they're usually too small.
When you get to town, drop your boat in there, store your trailer there, then go to your condo/hotel. etc.
A lot of the roads and driveways that lead to the water are not good for turning around a big truck and trailer.
As for a place to stay, find a water front hotel or condo with a big slip. What you chose kind of depends on what you'll be doing at the lake, bringing kids, wanting to golf, etc...

One of my one bedrooms is available at Heron Bay that weekend. here is the link: http://www.vrbo.com/126671

I'll have to find you a bigger slip though. There should be some 36' and 40' slips on "A" Dock available that weekend I can check into it if you are looking for a 1 bdrm.

Ya, one bedroom should do, unless the wife gets mad at me for looking at other girls down there! Slip is most important item.

Shoot me an Email (my cell # is on there as well) through the vrbo link and I can call down to one of my neighbors that lives in that complex full time and track down a slip if you are interested. After labor day there are lots of available slips I just have to call the owner and get it reserved for you.

Thanks,

Josh

To help with this problem, stop on the strip at one of the tee shirt shops and pick up a shirt I've seen down there that says the following on the front:

"Tell your b00bs to stop staring at my eyes"
