Places to stay at Table Rock

I am thinking of going on a kid friendly vacation this year to Branson/Table Rock. Where are some nice places to stay down there these days? I haven't been down there in 10-12 years so I am sure things have changed. Looking for something with multiple slips and fairly close to branson for the kids and the girls to entertain themselves while us guys hit the lake alone for at least one day. ;)

That will depend on how big a boat you are bringing. If you are looking for somewhere kid friendly and close to Silver Dollar City, look at Stillwaters. If you are bringing the 320, not sure where you will find a slip to rent.

The Chateaux on the Lake has slips big enough....cant think of many more hotels that can fully cover a boat that big. Big cedar has the most activities, close to branson, and is gorgous. You might have to compromise on full boat cover there.....buts that where i would go.

big cedar and just end tie the boat.

I downsized and never changed my screen name. We will be bringing a 24 outlaw and a 25 sunsation. Last time I was down there Big Cedar was just finished. It is defiantely beautiful. Are there many bars on the water now days?

No. :)

Since its a corp lake, just dont have the shoreline buildout. In kimb city, there is ahoys & bearded clam. but its a trek up from the few slips. over by indian point, i thought there was an irish named place, but not sure if its still there. over in the branson area i dont know of any.

what would have been sweet (albeit cost prohibitive) is put in some locks between table rock & taneycomo. Then boat all the way over to the branson landing where there is waterfront establishments. that would be a neat day trip.

The Buzards Bar

Big Ceader is where i would stay. They have the Buzards Bar which almost always has something going on and has a great atmosphere. Chateau is ok but not real kid friendly.

Stay at big cedar. Bars on the water? A few.

You ever seen Clay Self at the buzzards bar? Guy is funny.

I am just looking for a few bars to keep us guys entertained or at least a good party spot on the lake. I am not looking for LOTO style. Where are the good spots on the water?

JasonSmith 02-06-2008 09:50 AM

Things haven't changed much in the last 10 years.
There is still not much to do for "provided" entertainment, but there is always something going on at the swings or cow creek.
The Port Grill @ Campbell Point has live entertainment Friday & Saturday nights. They close it down at 10 pm I think.
Like everyone else suggested, Big Cedar is the place to stay. There are pools for the kids & even a kids day program I think.
Mamma will like it, they have a spa package & all the girl stuff.
Their slips are small, but you'll be fine with a 25' boat.
We hit Big Cedar for breakfast a few times a year. I don't know what it is about their breakfast, but it is good!

Lake bars....ahoys, bearded clam, big buoy are the closest to you. If you want something a lot nicer stop into D' Monico....ive been there in cut offs and flip flops a couple times. The other bars that you can boat too, that are close, are not right on the water.

Like these guys said.....pack the boats up and head to cow creek, powerline, naked, or the swings and tie up for the day. Or pick one of 1000 empty coves and inlets and party yourself. Go to ahoys or something for a grease burger and a beer. Look for my 27... white with red outline

This weather is killing me. I am ready to go right now. We are going to be down for a week. I'll have to look up a few of you guys to show me all of the good spots.

JimmyBaja 02-06-2008 07:09 PM

We have moved to Table Rock and have met Jason and the Super Fast "BadIdea", but not a lot of other folks yet. Looking forward to spring and some good times on the water.

BDiggity 02-06-2008 08:55 PM

Hopefully we'll meet u in our own boat. If not, I'll be in Jasons. NOT! I like living.

JimmyBaja 02-09-2008 12:00 PM

Brian, are you getting the cig?

i really do want it & my wife liked it but i think its just to be too big for down there. Port o' Kimberling said i may need a 18x49 slip (which i think is rediculous) because they dont think it would fit in a 16x42 (when backed in & no overhang). Then add in the cost for finding a lift for that big of boat. I thought about keeping it on a trailer in a storage unit, but my wife doesnt like to back trailer down & she definately doesnt like driving the boat (she was scared of the 232 cause it felt bigger than our 21' Mariah lol)

i've been looking at 30-33's cause it gives me the drystack option, but for the money nothing is realling peaking my interest except that Cig Bullet on MWBP. But my wife hates the American Flag grfx. :angry-smiley-038: So i keep looking & keep going back to the one i want the most.... So who knows. If i can get her to move off her requirement of having purple on the boat, would free up more options.

That boat looks like someone has taken very good care of it. I wouldn't want to trailer that around alot. If you bought it, you could get Vincent to paint it next fall to any graphics you wanted. But, that is a lot of boat!! Good Luck!!

42'-49' slips??? how long a cig you plan'in on getting?

gsmith9898 02-09-2008 08:26 PM

I always stay at a place called lone pine resort. The docks are nice and the kids and girls love laying around the pool.

i want a top gun. but when u factor in the platform, & then some cushion between the slip & boat, she said i would probably need the next size up. Our 232 hung out about a foot in the 24' slip they sold us, so i dont know. i never paid attention if anyone else was sticking out beyond the end of slip.

JasonSmith 02-11-2008 10:53 AM

POK doesn't have any tolerance on overhang. They are pretty strict.

We always stay at Indian Trails Resort. It's kid friendly and they have slips for rent with your room. Close to Branson and Silver Dollar City. Prices are pretty good to.

Jay, do you know where Indian Trails Resort is in relation to Stillwaters?

never enuff 02-11-2008 08:16 PM

No, I'd have to look at a map. Indian Trail also has "A" frames that are 2 or 3 bedrooms with a kitchen. Check their web site. We have stayed there 4 or 5 times and always enjoyed it. They book up pretty fast for the summer-tried to get a res. for Jasons bash in July and they were already booked:(.
