Outlet mall. That is the whole problem. My wife would live there along with my debit card. We are in Camdenton at the 3mm and after being here for 4 years she will not drive there because she don't know how to get there. And guess who isn't telling her how easy it is.

Mentalpause 02-08-2011 01:59 PM

Yeah - right in the middle of all the car and boat traffic. I use to live at the 19 for 6 years. I don't miss all that traffic. But it is in the middle of all the action.

shinglman 02-08-2011 03:08 PM

That is a beautiful part of the lake, just to busy for me. I like going out on the lake anchoring in a cove and not worrying about getting the crap knocked out of me all day.

Yeah, but the new by-pass has eliminated all the Osage Beach traffic worries :D We're at the 17mm and love it. Close to everything by land and in the middle of the action by water. I can find solitude past PC up the GG arm if I want it. Lots of hot spots both directions by water.

Amen on the bypass!! Shaved 15minutes or better off our commute so we are legitimately less than 2hrs door to door now.

It is also nice when trailering the boat. I had to drag the boat back down there a couple of weeks ago to get my motors put back in and it is nice not to have all those stop lights (and people pulling out in front of you)over byt the Hyvee and Walmart.

Definately going to be a bummer for some of the businesses though without the traffic. I am willing to bet I will never eat at the mcdonalds by home depot again.

Amen JMS322- We are on the 19 or really mm1 on the Grand Glaze side in the no wake. Love it. We can watch everyone coming and goin from party cove. Your also right on the solitude past PC. Thats a beautiful drive past PC to the flower house. Dog Days, BWJ, Shorty Pants, Wobbly Boosts, Tirebitters, mall, Panera Bread, ect. all very close. Hwy54 much safer now. If they would get the bi pass around Kirksville, our trip would be a little shorter.

I was just thinking about that at lunch walking outdoors in balmy 8 degree temps!

omerta one 02-10-2011 08:55 AM

I bet the in town portion of 54 will really be messed up the first holiday weekend. People going toward Camdenton will try to stay on the north bound lane where it separates. They won't know where to cut across to get to the stores on the north bound lane. It will confuse folks until they get use to it.

But those folks going through Osage Beach will be really happy not to screw with the traffic. And the scenery on the bypass is pretty nice.

That's why in mid August when it's 99 deg with 100 humidity I don't say a negative word about it, just think about days like these last few weeks.

Must have been. My truck wouldn't start.

tbirdusa 02-11-2011 02:44 PM

Went over to O Beach two weekends ago and I was lost I didn't know which way was up. I'll figure it out eventually but for a first time through, it was very confusing.

314joey 02-11-2011 03:43 PM

Yea, with the new highway it's definitely different, just wait until this coming fall and Phase two is completed, which is from the GG bridge to a few miles past KK.

When it's completed it's going to save me about 20-30 minutes (off KK) when heading out of town towards Jeff City.

derrickc 03-01-2011 08:06 PM

That's one of the best places on the lake, especially on those smokin hot days.

You know, really the best place at LOTO is where your babe, boat and beer are.

Cody and one of his buddies started climbing up and jumping off of the cliffs last summer. They wore life jackets, but it was still pretty tense watching them the first few times. HaHaTonka is definitely a summer favorite!

That is a great pic of the old Baja!

That's great cp06, your pic top row left I can see our crew all tied up together, you guys were real close.

When we go in the PC there's usually 6-8 boats that hook up together and I can see most of them in that pic. :evilb:
