Disregard the date... I know its wrong. These are from today.

In the 3rd row, 1st pic, my parent house is above the row of white townhouses. Good thing the boat wont be ready by Memorial because we wont be getting on the water. :(

capt2130 04-27-2011 02:00 PM

My In-laws used to live at Paradise Landing on the right side of bridge. Still have freinds over there.

I hope to be on the water in my lil 16' tracker Saturday. Dont think Ill be doing any good fishing. But at least I should get some pics. It doesnt look good for Mermorial day. Unless we go into a drought... not likely!

midmo 04-27-2011 02:12 PM

Corp has closed the lake to boats

It'll definitely be a interesting boating season here. The marinas will be hurting. As if the gas prices aren't already to blame.

there wont be any boats out here by Saturday with they have any brains at all  theres a ton of wood , debris, and trees but were sending it your way should see it by the weekend :party-smiley-004:

capt2130 04-27-2011 04:02 PM

No way I'd take out the advantage. But it's not gonna hurt my fishing boat. Besides I'm way back in a quiet cove anyway. No way I'd go into the main channel. I'm sure all your debris will be coming thru StL soon. I'll watch for it. :lolhit:

eddie 04-27-2011 04:10 PM

I thnk the major concern is the wake boats would do to property, docks, walls, etc not if you would damage your boat or not. Let's hope for no rain in that area so they can bring it down safe.

Exactly my dock is floating probably 100 feet from the bank on 2 cables and 2 drop poles sure don't need any wake in my cove:drink:

Im at Pt 10 Lil Aunts area. I havent saw my dock yet and hoping the ramp wont be in the water. Im sure the front of the dock will be in the trees tho. I still had room when I moved it Saturday am. Guess Ill find out Friday when I get there.

A buddy txt me last night and said he could change the yard light standing on his dock it was so high.

midmo 04-27-2011 05:37 PM

by lake? 15 miles i really don't know

capt2130 04-27-2011 05:48 PM

Know the area well. I am right out of Branson West. The guy that built our dock lived down in the talking rocks area.

hey do you remember 08, and 09 when we got 25 feet of extra water.
i was down in Ottawa yesterday, my ol'mans house boat went in so we were there to drive it from the travel lift to the slip, and the river is deff high, and moving fast, but From what i have heard below Starved Rock Lock is getting hit preety hard.
Henry is up in major flood stage.

they wont pass thru but they'll go over the dam like a 2X4 ,last BIG flood on the Illinois river and it took 2 dozen campers and sent them towards you ... called down to the Lock and they said the amount of stuff going over the lock & the bypass was incredible

Is your dock moving out as the lake goes down or have you had to pull it out? I won't be down till wednesday or thursday just wondering how mine is doing.

10 gates of the damn was open 4', releasing 68,000 cuft per sec. That was dropping the lake almost 3/4" per hour. Now only 5 gates are open with 1' opening, releasing 20,000 cuft per sec.

I think it is all good. There wasnt much tenison on the lake end cables. So I dont think it lifted the weights. I cranked them up as much as I could. I am going down Thursday afterwork. Looks like good weather for there. Damn shame lake is to high to put the advantage on. Guess I will have the lil tracker to run around in. There were alot of guys fishing. Not sure if they did any good or not. I never made it out.

It went down fast until the corp got it to where they wanted it. Now its holding steady at 930.... Normal pool is 915. So we have a ways to go. I could live with 923 or so. Not sure about everyone else. :drink:

Left pic was taken 1/10. You can see the drive on the other side of the cove coming to the shoreline.

Right pic was taken a Sat 4/30/11, lake level right at 931. No place to park now. :angry-smiley-038:

It was only on the riverwalk. I didnt want to fight the crowd to get any pics by the steps in the center of the mall. Heard one of the courtesy docks on the landing broke loose and made it down stream. Not sure what happen.
