Dam to Dam Lake of the Ozarks - May 21, 2011

Info from Mike:

THE PRE PARTY at Dorsey's at the 20.5mm !! Friday night around supper time we will be there, and I bet we'll be there all night. Plan on 5-6pm to arrive. Last year was a great time and a perfect way to meet new friends before the run Saturday. Come when you can, leave when you need to. Don't miss out!

The Schedule for Saturday... This is still open for discussion and dependant upon the weather. Miller's is the offical starting point. There are a few that will be staring from the Bagnal dam. Those that are further up the lake and can't meet us at Miller's are welcome to jump in with the group anywhere along the trip. Let me or someone else know where you plan on meeting us so we can look for you.

7:00 am -- meet and leave the dam ( 0 MM)
7:30 am - 8:00 am -- meet at Millers ( 29 MM)
9:30 am -- Leave Millers...
10:00 - 10:30 -- Meet at Red Fox (50 MM)
12:00 -- Leave Red Fox
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm Meet at Moonies (60MM)
2:30pm -- Leave Moonies
3:00pm - 3:30 pm -- Meet at Buck Naked (78.5 MM)
5:00pm Leave Buck Naked
5:30pm - 6:00pm -- Arrive at Warsaw (92 MM)
6:00pm -- ?? ---- PARTY

It will be important for us to not lose track of time during our stops. 60-90 minutes max per stop after Miller's.

If I have missed anything, please don't be afraid to say something! This is an unorganized event. The above information is about as organized as it is gonna get.

Let's get this DAM SUMMER STARTED!!!

Another VERY IMPORTANT NOTE. Unless you have AT&T, you will have NO CELL SERVICE past the 48mm. Don't even bother trying, unless something has changed. US Cellular and Verizon customers, just shut off your phones.

We have a few weeks ahead of us before the run, but if you could, please email your RSVP if you are going to attend. I'm trying to get a head count and boat count. Please send your name, names of all people riding with you and the make/size of your boat. We'll be having a drawing at each stop for some door prizes. If I don't have your name, you won't be in the drawing!

Email your info through Facebook or to [email protected] As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks!
Mike

His place is at the 55mm. I believe it is on the left hand side when traveling up stream. Brown house.

Here is a shot of his dock. Be sure to wave as you go by because you know he will have his camera ready (what a tool)

I watched the video. The guy needs to spend a little money and get his docks better secured and buy a lift for his little dingy. His dock would do the same thing if I went by his house at 40 mph.

In case anyone doesn't know, the bottom of the lake gets real close to the surface in some places past about the 70mm. I took about 4 ft of gel off my keel about 100 feet out from bucknaked in Oct. the lake level was only down a little from pool. My boat now is at GelPro getting fixed but I might see you go by from my dock at the 50mm. have fun .

What happened? I was watching for you guys at the 21.5 marker. Did the event get canceled?

No I did 84 miles of it, the rest of the group ran all the way. Few trees and firewood in the water. We had a blast, left Millers Landing around 9:30 and headed up hill.

Very few guys passed the 21 mm. Most met at Millers at the 29.5....I bet less than 4-5 came from that far down the lake.

I'm guessing we had 60 people by the time we hit Moonies at the 61mm. At that point, some turned back. We picked up a few more boats at the 77mm at Buck Naked.

We had a $hit load of fun!
