Consignment Sale on my boat
I'm looking to have a consignment sale on my boat. I have two marinas picked out I just have to decide which one. I was thinking with Tanglewood Marine in St. Charles. I know the owner and mechanic. His name is Joey Turek very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped me find my boat originally on Craigslist. He also surveyed my boat inside and out.
The other is Grand Sport Center. At the Lake in The Hills location. There a Baja dealership which is good. Located near the Fox River. After my boat is sold I'm getting out of boating. I could afford my boat however the cost was getting to me. Limited time to work on boat. With winter boat is deep in storage with no access to boat. Difficult to get any family or friends out on boat. usually crummy weather or aren't around. I can't store my boat in basic garage at all. So eventually I'm going to get a Fox body Mustang GT. To be able to store it in my garage and get more usage out of it. The other is to experience the traveling going to the cities like New York, Seattle, Boston, and much more. Please let me know. |
Grandsportcenter
They know how sell Baja's very well. Good luck |

Big or small Ed sells them all. |
I'd say Grand Sport too. I wouldn't go through the hassle of taking it to LOTO, although I agree Ed is a good guy.

+1 for Eddie at LOM

Be happy to talk to you and help if I can, my cell is 402-290-8070. I don't have an experience working with either places so I'm no help there. Good luck on the sale and the new hobby.

Thank you there everyone.

I have bought 3 boats from Jerry at Grand Sport and had him sell my Donzi last year. Had no problems at all. If you take your boat to LOTO, Ed at LOM helped me out while on vacation, also a stand up guy. No matter who you choose make sure you have a contract stating the commission rate or a fixed guarantee dollar amount for you.
Buy the way, I got out of boating for about 6 months before I got back in it....Its a sickness I could not shake. |

Griff,
That's a sweet looking Mustang that you have. I'm not looking to buy a Mustang right now. I have other stuff that needs to be taken care of as well. |
I've had it about 18 years, so I'm not in any huge hurry to sell either:violent040:

Looks like a clean boat , you should keep it. :D
Jerry will have that thing sold in no time I bet |
Hi ICDEDPPL, I decided to sell the boat. I have it on consignment at the Lake In the Hills location with Mark should be able to sell the boat in no time. To get the money from it and invest it. Keep my current car till it goes kaput. Replace it with a full sized truck or SUV. In the next 5 years I want another boat, along with a boat lift. The boat I would like to get is a Baja Hammer. It will be eaiser to launch, retrieve and tow. Plus saving money on gas, storage and insurance. I'll keep it up at my parents lake house in Wisconsin. Which is on the Three Lakes Chain. I gre w up boating there it's not at all crowded, nice scenery, clean water, deep lakes, and only three no wake zones to deal with on the main part of the lakes. The biggest one is a 1/4 mile long. Which would be where the bridges are at. The boat would be ideal for it. It too would go the same speed as mu current boat 70mph. To also take it to the Whitefish chain of Lakes in MN once a year as well.

Jerry at Grand Sport all the way. I dragged my 24 Pantera's from upstate NY and he basically had it sold before I dropped it off. I did not have to make any phones calls to bank, buyer or anyone. Jerry took care of all with no hassles and got me a fair price for my boat. I'd say the biggest hurdle for selling a boat is owners who don't have a realistic price they are willing to accept. It's always a buyers market. Good luck.

Well thank you there. I have a person that was wanting to buy my boat. Anyways I went ahead and had Max at Grand Sport sell it to the guy. I'll be stopping by Grand Sport on Saturday to give them the title of my boat and trailer to the new owner. The new owner is from Morris. I wonder if he's on OSO at all.
