Memorial Weekend LOTO Trip
Heading to LOTO next Thursday going to launch out of Bergers and have a condo/slip over at Pallisides Condo's give shout if your going to be in the area we will be hitting all the normal spots Capt Ron's, Back Water Jack, etc and coving out.
|
Hopefully some of this rain clears out. Raining right now. Was out yesterday and the main channel is reasonably clean, not too much debris. The gully washing down pour we had yesterday around noon doesn't help though.
|
Seems like the weather is being uncooperative for next week but likely to change between now and then.
|
I will be down also.. 419 Formula SR1
|
We'll be down:boat:
|
We will be there till Monday morning maybe we do a OSO raft up in cove someplace? There is a cove by the rt.54 bridge and it's right on one of the holes of a golf course I will only know it by getting down in the area. We are open for any location we can go with the flow!
Funny story- one year we were in there and big Formula cruiser pulled in with younger kids (over 18) we were watching the golfers come and go and floating off the back of the boat and I see a water balloon land on the course I look over and the kids have a slingshot and are launching water balloons at first no biggie but once they got the range they were landing close and golfers were pissed..... As soon as I saw "angry golfers" I jumped back in the boat and started getting ready to move the wife was like why move? Now I'm not a golfer but if I was I would have took some balls and tee's to edge of the shore and returned fire! So we moved about 400 yds. off the shore of that hole just in case a golfer decided to retaliate! About the time we re-anchored 2 more boats another performance boat and cruiser moved out to our location. Now I know it's not right but from our safer location I was laughing and cheering those kids on!!! |
I doubt many people will be floating in the water this weekend. Water surface temp was 69 yesterday, and it certainly won't be warming up the next 3 days. First Memorial Day weekend in years we haven't been floating off the dock drinking beer. Weather man is not cooperating for the weekend either, which means the mall will be packed.

Rain or shine we will be out somewhere!
|
It was a balmy high of 52 yesterday and rained all day. Miserable. Sun is back out today, although current temp is only 55. Warm up tomorrow, just in time.

Had a great time Thursday brought the boat to the condo about noon unpacked and ran to Backwater Jacks, Friday was another no rain sun came out we sat at coconuts till about 4. Saturday was great we had some friends in from Ohio another day at coconuts the place was packed we made it there by 12 just in time to get a slip we were going to take a ride but all the wind and boat wash from so many boats made it a little to rough. Sunday was a rain day glad I left the boat in the slip we were sitting at Capt. Ron's when a wall of water so thick came through it obscured everything behind it! Sent folks scattering was sort of funny .
Monday was another great day! Was at Backwater Jacks watching the docking festivities those poor dock girls had to really work they saved a couple boats that were parked. There was a awesome blue/silver MTI center console with quad verados I think it was a 42, thing was completely bad ass I use to poo poo those boats but the more I look at them the more I really like them, pretty sure I would consider one for my next boat. I see lots of pluses with those things, roomy, ease of engine maint, plenty fast with quads on it for me or even triples on a 38, wife loves the lounge seats in front. |
Friday and Saturday would have been way better with about 15-20 degree warmer temps. Monday finally warmed up enough that I finally jumped in the lake late afternoon after a few hours of chores. Water off our dock was 74 at surface and 72 at your feet. It is warming up nicely this morning. Feels like summer is finally getting here.

We stayed down till Thurs afternoon. Dodged some showers on the weekend, but Mon-Weds were near perfect.
