First time lake of the ozarks
I'm thinking about going on the poker run at lake of the ozarks. I've never been down there and wondering if I'll even be able to keep up or fit in ha I have a 98 baja outlaw 25 and does mid 60's

Poker Runs are not a race...
They break the boats into "classes" so yes, you will be able to stay with the pack you are running with. I am guessing it is for Shoot Out? There is also a number of other runs, displays and places to visit that week. You will be in "Performance" Heaven! Have a great time! |
Yea, and for a poker run they need a regatta permit from the MO Water Patrol. I think the speed limit for the Support our Troops Poker Run this year was 65.
Take that with a grain of salt, of course. |
If you run with the packs, it will be pretty rough in a 25 OL.
I think you would probably enjoy yourself more just watching the start of the poker run and then boating around the lake. |
Take your time and plan on getting Wet Sat after the Shootout!- Like said above - Power Boat Heaven!!
|
Ok sounds good thanks for the advice!!!! Can't wait to go!!!
|
We plan to sit, and watch em go by. As said expect a rough ride. My 280 velocity will be loving it, my wife will not.
|
Did the same thing with my Formula 280ss, do the poker run. You will be in the green group probably. You can hit as many of the stops that you want to. Great group of people and the after party is a blast. Nobody cares how fast your boat is, just want you to have a good time. Plus LOTO is a blast.

About how long is the poker run??
|
Miles wise, you can make it probably as short as 30 miles or as long as 80 miles.
There are 8 possible stops, but you really only need to hit 3 stops plus the start and finish stops. http://midwestboatparty.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=42335 http://www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.org/pokerrun.html |
