Need help with the shootout
I am planning on attending both the Michigan City Superboat Race and the shootout. I don’t have a truck that can haul my boat, and my time is pretty tight, so, I’m looking at having the boat hauled. I have a 2002 46 Black Thunder on a trailer. Here is my very tentative plan: 1) have the boat hauled from my home in Michigan to Trail Creek Marina in Michigan City. Launch the boat, and store the trailer. I think I have this piece handled 2) Have a local hauler transport the boat to Osage Beach (or any better site that may be suggested). I am looking for someone, so any references are appreciated i need to store the boat in a secure location for about 2 weeks prior to the shootout (there is a gap between the end of the Michigan City races and start of the shootout). Ideally, wherever I can have it stored can drop me in the water for the week of the shootout, and store my trailer. ill then need a slip for the week 3) once the shootout has ended I need a local company to haul the boat and trailer back to the Detroit area (my home) any help, references, suggestions are appreciated steve |
I'd get in touch with Ed Champion at Big Thunder marine, I think they would be able to take care of everything you need.
You could also try Performance Boat Center but I don't think they have slips available weekly. |

Are you planning on staying on the boat??? or renting a condo??? Many condo's have slips with them, but its hard to find one with a slip for a 46"

I agree with Griff. I stayed at PB 2 several times years ago. They do have a shower house, shore power, fuel and a store.
