Illinois river launches

Anyone know of a good launch for a 37 Active Thunder in the Starved Rock/Peoria pool? Used to launch our 26 Outlaw at Spring Valley when the water was high enough but dont see that happening with the 37. I see a 38 Cig running that pool just not sure where he puts in.

Detwiller or East Port. You will most likely drag the trailer at Eastport.

Ok thanks for the info I was hoping for something further up near Spring Valley. I tried the yacht club launch last year with my 26 and it was very steep, not sure how a 37 would do. Hennepin seems like a gradual grade just not sure how long the ramp is.

Assuming, you have a 37' AT with a step, realize you are going to need enough water to float the step over the aft bunks. It's going to be a lot different than your Baja. At least you don't have to worry about tides in your area. :D That Cigarette being a straight bottom or a twin step, either doesn't need to float up, or only needs to float up 2" to come off the trailer. Yours will have to float up 4-5" to float off the back of the trailer.

The worst problem with a steep ramp is usually the breakover angle on a long trailer. Depending on the trailer, if you can cross the breakover at the top of the ramp at a 45° angle, that will often allow you to cross without hanging up.

There was a guy on here that used to have a 38 PQ that lived in Wenona that ran the river. He may have used the ramp at Lacon. I've used it before for a 27' boat. Not sure how far the concrete runs into the river. Henry may be another option. Again, not sure on ramp length.
