LOTO House Boat rentals

Does anyone rent houseboats on LOTO? All I can find is pontoons.

House boat in LOTO? Are you crazy?

They use to rent sunseeker house boats down by the grand glaze bridge years ago, back when party cove was hoppin

you would find tons of them nosed up to the east shore

most only had a single 4 Volvo single prop in them, so it wasn’t something
that you wanted to do much of anything that required any docking skills

4 Seasons Vacations used to rent them, but they went out of business years ago. Too my knowledge, there is no places that rent them anymore.

There is however, large cruisers that can be rented. Here is a link for reference.

Most people rent a VRBO then rent a small boat or pontoon.

Wow $582 for 4hrs for a pontoon

That was just one example, here is another, through Big-Thunder. There is numerous other rental companies as well. Pricing depends also on day of week and hours wanted.

Too be fair, boats as we all know are expensive and between the insurance and lack of driver knowledge, I can understand why they are expensive.

I guess I am crazy. I haven't been there since 1995. I thought I remembered seeing a bunch of houseboats then, and rentals. Thought it would be a good way to explore the water. Maybe not. OK ,pontoon it is.

Back then, there was houseboat rentals, but most went under in 2008 and I believe in 2011 they were all sold off or scrapped.

Competing with the condo market (VRBO) is going to be tough... But hey, maybe a business opportunity?

If you haven't been there in 30 yrs you're going to shocked, the most littered shoreline of docks, Condos and over priced properties........... but hey 600 bucks for a 4 hour toon rental is a good deal........:lolhit: JMO.....

Like bajaholic said, the houseboat rentals have been gone for about 15 years. The fleet was beat up and worn out and they got scrapped. BTW they were like 5k for a week back then.
