I agree it is amazing how fuel efficient the 1075's are. I use less that Half of what my buddies use with similiar power.
I would bet that this boat will still run well over 100 missing one motor. I would think you would only shut down the one that was broken. I believe the addidtional drag of two dead motors would be more of an issue than having the unbalanced power of three..

I'm not sure about the MTI, but I know that a few years back when I was in a poker run, the 50 nor-tech 4 engine "Extreme Exhibit" lost a prop and he still flew past us at over 130mph on 3 engines. Of course, he had 1350 sterlings or something like that and it was 5 feet shorter, but it was a nor-tech. I bet the MTI would plane on 2 engines.

PremierPOWER 10-07-2008 09:11 AM

Anyone have any pictures of the 4 engine/ drive setup? Ive never heard of such a beast and am very curious

I don't know how MTI rigs it but Weismann uses an offset transmission in the engine bay.

bdk11 03-06-2009 07:45 PM

Might be fun to go for a ride !!!

Saw JAWS docked at the Casino last summer and up-close the top of the sponsons appear to be about 8 feet from the waterline. Should be a nice dry ride and no problem for Lake Erie's slop...

Swedish Chris 07-03-2010 01:05 PM

Wow, this is seriously one ofthe most bad ass boat's I've ever seen!

Four 1075's?! Jesus Christ?

There isn't any chance there are some video or atleast sound files? I'd love to hear four 1075's...

MTI is really the best here is.

Heard it runyesterday... no sound clips though... he was running at lift..

Catmando 07-05-2010 01:15 AM

Can't wait to see one with four Merc 1350s. :party-smiley-004:

(Although I believe turbines and shaft drives are the best power package for a boat so large...)

I know him and it will run 158 + he has had it to 150 and let out!

Catmando 09-25-2010 06:29 PM

Dan Jackson's 55 only has two 1075s and he has no trouble planing. I hear it runs over 130 so with twice the power I don't see why JAWS couldn't run 160 or so...

Wild 09-30-2010 11:04 AM

would love to some video of the 55s running, not sure i ever have

Fountain Family 09-30-2010 11:18 AM

Awesome boat, but terrible paint.

flat rate 09-30-2010 09:31 PM

I hate to say this but if they don't do something with the "in house" paint work they will go to ****. MTI's used to look like glass not any more unless they are painted somewhere else.

MizzouMatt 10-01-2010 04:01 PM

They paint what the customer wants.

Look at any boat that has rolled out of the MTI doors with "in house" paint recently and I am sure you will change your opinion.

cowisl 10-04-2010 10:40 AM

Any other pictures?

Catmando 10-09-2010 11:03 PM

I really really REALLY like the new hatch scoops, tremendous improvement in looks, not to mention airflow, over those little bitty ugly side things that interrupted the smooth looks of the "coke bottle" shape.

Well done Randy!! :coolcowboy: :drink:

So how fast does Jaws run? I think my previous est. of 160 might be a little low...

PokerRun388 01-22-2011 09:09 PM

Ive seen pics of that 55... its huge, your right,, would love to see one in person, someday...
