When going from a merc shifter to this what needs to be done? I am guessing the hole for this one needs to be enlarged? also no blue or chrome in a single engine set up?

Unfortunately no other colors available. When switching you may need to enlarge the hole and you may need a cable adapter depending on what kind of cables you are running. Are they KM cables or a 33 series cable? That would be a determining factor.
