Xcess Wetness In Chicago

Jassman:

I saw your old boat at Northpoint Marina (Winthrop Harbor IL) yesterday and today. Is this its new home?

It was looking good on the trailer.

I did talk to RV a few times in the last month, but didnt even know it resold, maybe the guy will join OSO and post some pics, if not RV. I regret that I sold it :( , sometimes be satisfied for what you have, wanting to go faster isn't always better. Thanks

Not sure who the owner is, but it definetly was your old boat... right down to the TMP sticker on the trailer.

When will your new 43 be done? What did you finally decide on engines and drives?

I spoke with RV today, he did buy the boat. When I owned it, it was detailed every saturday by my porter along with my truck and Sandys car. He would get here at 7am and leave around 5-5:30. In the winter I kept it in a heated and cooled 12x52' garage under my home with central vac up high on the wall by the cockpit, so all I had to do is reach over and grab the 30' hose. This garage was built just for this boat. Otherwise it stayed on a Myco cradle that was covered with hot and cold water as well as shore power for those days I was in the dog house. I know RV will get it back in shape. :drink: :D

I just talked with rv a week ago and we talked about your old boat. He said he didn't care much for the purple interior, I thought looks good. He must have been sandbagging me.

I know he got a good boat. Jassman, is rv the 2nd or third owner?

Everyone,
We did get it and its new home is Withrop Harbor. It went down very quickly, I hope not too quickly. I flew down to check it out on Sunday, we agreed to terms on Monday and it was in route to us on Friday. We took delivery on Saturday at 1pm. A very good friend helped my wife and I do a very quick clean and had it in the water by 6:30pm that day. We didn't get a chance to run it until Sunday.

There were 2-3' with a 4' every once and awhile. The boat handled it great. On the way back from Racine we had 7 in the boat and I don't think anyone was complaining about being to cramped for room.

Nor-Tech, Jassman and TMP did a great job putting this one together. There was alot of thought put into this boat, the features, layout and detail. It would have been nice to get it directly from Jeff, I know I would have had alot less to do. I am pretty sure I can get it back (at least close) to they way Jeff had it.

Downtown 42, I am sure we will see you one of these weekends.

Rick

RV, Ill help you out any way I can. When I had it the oil was changed every 10 hrs and a filter change every other time. There is a quick oil change with hose adapter, 2 primer and pump out switches (black) by bottom of dash. Drive oil was changed every 25 hours. Call me if you need anything, I KNOW you will take care of her, good luck. Jeff

Rich.

He had the boat from March till now. I sold it with 63 hours and I believe it has 135hrs on it now. So in 6 mos he put on 65 hours. I talked with TMP yesterday they said the boat was too big for him to take care of properly by himself, looking for something smaller, and just wanted to have it sold before winter, and will look in the spring.

Re: Xcess Wetness In Chicago

Everyone,
Thanks for the congrads, I appreciate it.

As Jeff said the previous owner has his hands full with running a business, family and land deals to the point of not having any free time. As we all know, boat up keep/maintance doesn't happen in 5-10minutes.

It has TMP 750's n/a efi engines.

Boomer, I have seen your 40 Hustler in the shed and in the harbor before. That is a nice boat. Feel free to stop by and check it out, no problem on the ride.

Jeff, I appreciate your offer and yes I will be calling some more. If you have any pictures during the construction I would love to see them. I would like see were somethings are placed in the hull for future reference, i.e. tanks, fuel, water, waste, stringers under the floor, etc.

No Loto this summer but we may do a trip for Memorial day next year.

Paul, yes we do need to hook up. With all we have been through together I think we can finish off at least one or two with our war stories. You and Lisa are welcome anytime. I don't think we will be doing Ft Lauderdale this fall but you never know.

I have already talked to TNT about checking out the drives and repainting this winter.

Rick

I'll stop by next time I see you! I only wish that the person that owned our Hustler before us took as good of care of the boat as Jeff did... lots to do to get it in better shape. I wish I could keep the boat closer, so that I could work on it in the evenings. Oh well.
