3600 w/ Ilmors
I saw somewhere that Nortech had built a 3600 with ilmors and was curious how it performed. Does anyone have any info on this boat?

Re: 3600 w/ Ilmors
You must have seen it in a crystal ball. Nothing built yet but a 43 V w/ trips is in the rig shop now. A 36 should be coming down the line in a few months.

Re: 3600 w/ Ilmors
It was in one of Florida powerboats ads but it was just a drawing. I have someone looking now waiting to see perf. numbers on this set up. He is not sure what he wants. He has had me checking on a couple boats over the last few months. Reliability is a major concern he has and 525's seem to be a good set up. Ilmor/Arneson package would be ideal.
How many 36's have been built with Arnesons and how did they perform? |
Re: 3600 w/ Ilmors
There's one ASD 6 -36 w/ gas motors in MI. Seems to be doing fine. There's another w/ ASD 8's with Yanmar Diesels in Norway and no problem there either.

Re: 3600 w/ Ilmors
The Ilmor will be a great package with the imco extreme drive, We have a 39v coming with this setup looking for 100+ and in the 36 cat, I believe 120+ is attainable, the imco drive is a very fast drive, will have to wait and see

Re: 3600 w/ Ilmors
Wouldn't have the imco's. Not consistent on their quality and poor customer service. Would take a Teague platinum over the Imco.

you looking at a nortech now , ha ha ha, right
|
Do your homework my step dad picked up a 4300 this summer.

I bet they would if someone payed them to do it though. |

I heard from Nortech that they weren't making anymore ASD-6 rigged 3600's.

Ther ASD-6 was never a great Cat drive, Arneson designed the ASD 7 for cats. The steering geometry is more suitable for a longer tie bar needed for cats. The ASD-6 boat has been rerigged with asd-7's.
correct..Also buddy O, why in the hell would you rig any boat without a tranny. My choice is 700/NXT'slike the #6 better, 525-600/#6 cause you have to... or lastly Ilmor/Arneson due to low dealer service, especially in our area, who is TMP. Has Ilmor straightened out their vapor lock issue's. I personally like the motor and was wondering how it stacked up against (700/NXT) the same boat with twins and the Arnesons. |

How fast was the 36 with 480 Yanmar Diesels/ASD 8's? Thanks Don |

I have Ilmor 625's in my 36 Spectre and love them but the Teague drives have not held up behind them. So YES for the engines, but go for the #6 drives unless you can wait for Ilmor to come out with theirs.

Same problem that most Bravo's have with this torque and horsepower. Gear failure. Metal on the magnets requiring rebuild at around 38 HRS.

That is what I thought. The thread puzzled me when I read the first two posts.

The boat with Ilmors was built in that 2 year window. |
