Re: Quad engines?
Hey Terry !
Saw you on the news last week....Awesome. Just my opinion and I've said it before, Warbird 50V is the V-bottom all others should be judged by. It was years ahead of its time ! All the best, Hans |

Re: Quad engines?
RockStr Hans,
Saw the Warbird once in person at the CC Yacht Club some years back - I don't think pics do it any sort of justice - that Boat was Incredible! Just curious as to where it's at now? You still have it? For a 50 ft. boat weighing in over 16K Lbs. to hit over 140mph, well, enough said- simply killer! You have any additional pics of it you could post? Thanks and take care. Matt |
Re: Quad engines?
Delleto -Slow down my friend. Warbird is not my boat. I couldn't afford to fuel it, much less own it! It's just always been my favorite....
It was owned by a gentleman thats also here on OSO... All the best, Hans |
Re: Quad engines?
Hans- Sorry 'bout the mix-up. I had previously read the Warbird thread (fastest Nortech V) and saw that James was the King & creator of those amazing boats - in particular the dark purple 50V Warbird III we had mentioned. I had thought, perhaps, you had taken it over. Regardless, I'm with you on that one - that boat kicked serious arse! I'm still curious as to where it might be spotted today.

After re-rigging, overheated constantly, never ran to the standard I was accustomed to from NT. Traded Warbird V for a 60' SeaRay (we went through a naming contest here: "Falcon"). Had to sue the "guy" that I traded through for the final papers. As you get older and wiser, you learn that there are some people that you never do business with again... Hans is correct; Warbird III weighed 17,000 lbs and ran 140 properly trimmed and driven. Alpha Boat-What a rush!! Maybe one of the best ever...(and I'm so old that I must be years ahead of my time too LOL!!) James |
Re: Quad engines?
James-
No thoughts on a Warbird VI, perhaps 50V rigged to your liking????? Also, that was nice spread on your Midnight in PB Mag. - boat looks killer! Matt |

Old thread but my bet Cary is the King of Quads. My understanding is they built around 60 Cary 50's with either Quad 454 or Quad Merlin diesels. And I happen to be one of those 60 folks.... My only wish is that it would run half as fast as one of the 50 Nor-Techs. |
