I saw Canada Thrust today at the painters having the name taken off of it

Great theme boat if you are Canadian.......Sounds like it sold from Legendary as a repo. Are they going to put the turbines back in it or go piston?

Nothing in the engine bay but the #6s still hanging off the back

how did this thing get repo'd?? owner bought it and then i thought he was trying to sell it after only like 6 months. i don't get it.

I don't understand these rich folks flitting from one project to another. It's almost as if their passion is for the project, not the end result. If I could afford a boat like that I would enjoy it for the rest of my life.

That's exactly it. There are many "high rollers" on this forum that will admit that the thrill is in creating the boat, not actually driving/maintaining it. It's a shame to those of us that love to drive, but, we get the oppurtunity to buy their creations for 1/4 of the price!

I heard the Original owner "Rob" wasn't happy that the boat was constantly "broke" and decided to get rid of it, could just be a rumour, as for removing the paint, you would have to do the interior as well, the "Canada Thrust" name is embroidered into the seats and other places I believe

The boat is at Shogren's for sale minus turbines. The new paint looks great, nice opportunity for some to get into a turbine boat for reasonable $.

Original owner was unhappy you needed a crew to launch/use boat and damn near an 18 wheeler to move it around! Fastboats bought it back/took it back on trade and when his floorplan went up in smoke the bank shuffled it around to get it sold. It had been for sale at Legendary Marine out of Destin, FL for months before Shogren got it/repainted it.

"Original Owner" didnt realize BEFORE dropping 1.5 Million on a 50ft boat, powered by a pair of helicopter turbines that it would need a few people to help with it and/or a truck and trailer to haul it around? LOL!!

Rob is a very close friend, he loves the sport and loves building new and different packages. He was well aware ofwhat he was doing and all will soon see when the new project is done too. Turbines just weren't his thing..........

That's a good question... If he's such a good friend what's the real reason he bailed from the boat???

Well if I had the money I would buy it. I love the colors and the design, and the seats can be recovered. The big change I would make is switching to shaft drives.

Turbines, schmurbines, who needs them?

Since Canada Thrust Rob has had 5 other nor-tech's....with number 5 on the way. He knows what he gets into before doing it for sure........

How come Cigs never have turbines?? You would think that guys with that kind of money would know how much better than pistons turbines are...

Maybe because Cig doesn't build a cat? And some guys just like the sound of a V-8.

On second thought Cigarette's 8' beams are probly too narrow for turbines. But V bottoms can handle turbines. I give you Haggin's OL as proof.

I was thinking the say thing about Canada Trust... too bad that someone would want to sell this extreme boat after such a short time.... Imagine how the builders and guys that actually put the sweat into this 50cat must feel when they realize its just sitting on someones lot for sale. I dont get it,, you would think that money would go fast if your spending over 1million for a boat,, then selling it 6months later...

however this 50 said repo,,, so whats the latest?
