3600 ride characteristics
 

I am between boats right now, last 3 were cats. I have ridden in many brands from Skater to Motions but have never ridden in a Nortech. I like the layout and cockpit design and am ready for a cabin of sorts but not ready to give up the cats. How does the handling (porpoising, turning, speed, planing etc.) compare with the other cats? Is the cabin really functional or do you need to be a contortionist to get into them?

I have ridden in numerous NT 36's with various power plants. I have as well ridden in other brand cats. Nor-Tech is without a doubt, hands down my favorite. The ride is incredible. A very "beefy", tall hull, super in the rough or other boat wakes.

I'm 6'5, 240. Though I haven't slept in one I have laid on the bed to experience the space. Perfect for what you would use it for. To crash. Same with the head. To be able to poop and shower relatively comfortably in a 36' cat is a major plus in my book.

A friend has a rig for sale with Merc 700's. Turn key, reliable power. In person the boat is unreal. Photos do not do it justice. I've ridden in it a couple of times and love it more each time. Best of luck with your search!

I like the colors but the helm is set up the opposite from the way I would have it. I would set it up like a normal raceboat.

I've seen some gorgeous 36's! If you don't mind my curiosity what is it about yours that's so much different than others?

The cabin and head are functional. 2 people can fit on the berth. My 36 may not be the most bad ass available, but it is the least expensive available and still runs and looks great.

They built and sold a lot of them. They are not a race boat and are heavier more reasonably priced then other 36' cats but still have an excellent ride and much better then any V. They have an excellent safety record. Many people buy them as a first high performance catamaran. They are then traded for one with more HP. I am selling mine becasue I moved and want a smaller, faster cat. If I still lived in Ft. Lauderdale I would just repower mine or trade it for one with bigger power.
