could use some help picking props for my 3600
 

I bought a 2004 3600 supercat minus power and could use some help with the props. it now has 850 hp, #6 dry sumps with 1.35 ratio. What would be a good prop to start with??

What's the max RPM?

6500 rpm

When we ran 850 Mercs we liked the 16.75 x 35" Herings. Those turned 5800 and about 137 mph.
I did get 142 on some 37" props. I think 35 or 36 would be good. Make sure you specify the Nor-Tech cup if you go Hering.

I'm thinking about getting the 34 x 17 mercury props to start with. What rake does this boat like?

Well I got a set of 34 x17 and the best I saw was 115 at about 5300. This is without the prochargers installed because the stringer was in the way. I have to trim out to get going cause these 17" props really grab the water. This winter the prochargers are getting mounted but I'm curious if 16.5 x34 would get me more speed or maybe go tp 32x16.75.. Any thoughts are much appreciated!
I gotta say though that the nor tech at 110 is a beautiful thing :)

Hello..my Nortech 36' also with 1.35 ratio and with the old 850 hp engines had Herring 17x33, 16 rake i think.
It was just exactly right for me. And it manages with a little effort to max it out at 6000 rpm and 130 mph in sweet water. I hawe herd that you cold get about 5 mph more in salt water :-).
