Nortech Cat Tunnel Extension

Anyone out there had any experience adding a tunnel extension to a Nortech Cat to help minimize boat hop? I have a 40ft Nortech roadster and I was kicking the idea around. I have read where Nortech started adding tunnel extensions on the old 43ft Roadsters and supposedly it helped considerably but when I call Nortech they say they have no experience putting one on a 36 or 40ft. I have found one pic of a 36ft supercat with a tunnel extension so I know it has been done. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking the same for my 43. but after research it seems most cats have a hop in the 70-80 range.
Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvqR44OgYoc all different makes and they hop until they drive through it.

Yes I agree with you most cats do hop in the 70-80 mph range but some hop more than others. Skater has almost eliminated hop in their newer boats by incorporating a fixed fiberglass tunnel extension into the bustle. Just wondering if anyone had feedback from doing this to a Nortech. In regards to the video you posted, most of the boats in that video are DCB's and they have a center pod that fills the tunnel in the rear of the boats, so they are not true "Tunnel cats" like our Nortechs are. So its not a good comparison to what our boats drive like under acceleration.

Waynutz has a cross between a tunnel tab and a tunnel extension made out of stainless, might this option work for you.

That looks like a 36ft Supercat to me so if thats the case then this might work well. The 36ft and 40ft have the same bottom and tunnel so could be made to fit mine. Do you have contact info for him? I would def like to reach out to him and get his thoughts on it.

Its defiantly a 43 look at the step width and the walkway between the engine hatch's, these are wider on the 43 as it has a 12 beam.

I don't see why it shouldn't work on the 36-40.

Do you know the guy that owns Waynutz personally? Be nice to to find out who made him that stainless extension for his boat.

You've got to be Waynutz to have a ski pole on the back of a Nor-Tech CAT!!!!!!!!!!
