Anyone stay over night on these? Ac a possibility? the middle is a queen bed correct? Can the couches be made into beds with filler pieces? Are they long enough? Hows the head room? We have not stayed overnight on mine yet but plan to this year. Some were built with AC but not many. There were only 83 total of the 3600's made. There is a queen bed over the tunnel. You would lay with your head to port side and feet towards the starboard side unless you are a midget. There is a little "kick out" halfway up towards the cockpit side of the bed with some extra space for a bed hog or woman crap. The couch could be made into an extra bed fairly easily if you could make a filler piece. Another option I was considering is if you have looked at any pictures, you will see a quite large round vinyl snap on cover towards the front sponson in front of the bench. Behind this is another large space that would be perfect for an extra bed. I have not measured how long it is exactly but for sure would be great for kids if not adults. If it is long enough, I feel like this would be the best option since taking filler pieces in and out all the time would be a pain. The door to the cabin is a little tricky and might be a challenge with one big piece one would make for this purpose. Interesting note I have seen a 52' version (maybe some 43's and 50's?) have this area finished off and it looks nice so it can be done. On the 3600 it is unfinished so you would need to paint or carpet and install lights etc. but looks very easy to do as there is already power back there and a support structure that could be used easily. Also worth noting there is no hatches for ventilation except for the entrance to the cabin. I have seen only two built with ventilation hatches, but they look fugly on the deck. There may be more and would be easy to install it looks like. There were a few built without the bathroom on the starboard side. Those have another couch in its place and "may" have a smaller bed over the tunnel, but I have not seen any good pictures to confirm. As far as headroom, you are not going to stand up in the cabin but sitting on the bench is no problem. I'll see if I can find any better pictures of my cabin than what was posted. |
Thank you Dave , that helps a lot.
The flat deck I cant really sit up straight on the couches unless I scoot down and the forward birth is even less so that would be fine. If you get a chance to take more pics that would be great. Or a measurement on how long the couch is... |
You thinking about going to a cat?

I’ve always been a nortech super cat fan. Unique styling yet very functional. I think a 40 or bigger would suit you better than a 36, no?

I talked to this older gentelman, his has storage where the bed would usually and then another sleeping area forward on that but its tight . He has a lot of extra parts , props , underwater exhaust, Mark Rinda built the engines .. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5816d5e349.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...20d34459e6.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e887e7ed88.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ec62b4fd0f.jpg |

Anyone know about the Orange-ish one that was for sale on here with no motors? Was kind of a skull flame paint job, but looked good. Well to me I like that chit.
|
I`ve seen 3 so far.
2 were no good, this one is clean: https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2004...ercat-8891511/ https://www.google.com/search?q=3600...kjXdemDF0,st:0 I put down a deposit and after negotiations we settled at $180(based on the video) I was al ittle disapointed, there were at least 15 places that either had a scracth or rock ding in the paint. Once I seen the $10-$15k in paint work I lowered my offer to $165, doubt he`ll go for that but insurance and loan on 20 year old boat is very difficult . Havent heard back yet, .. Maybe I`m being picky it is a 20 year old paint job ...but I just sold a 1986 with flawlless paint. Hard to go backwards Chips and sratches bug me. |
The engines have good parts in them :
The boat came with 700 hp engines, and he had them re-done to 850 or so. He got passed at 120 by another boat and stepped up to have the motors done with the capability of much more. The engines are tall deck Dart blocks, with new JE positions. The block has never been bored. The rods are Carillo, and the crank is from Lunati. The crank was re-done by Lunati directly on the current build and set with 2- keyways for the blower pulley. With a change of fuel, and a change of the lower pulley, 1300-1350 is what they would run. He had them dialed back to the current setting for ultimate reliability, and loves the current performance level. 15-20 hours max on the engines since they were completely redone to the current specifications. * The heads are Dart Pro-1 that are ported * The ignition controller is a MEFI 4 with Daytona sensor controller and coil. * Isky solid roller cam with T&D shaft. 1.7:1 rockers * Positions are JE * Block is a Dart tall deck * Rods are Carillo * Crank is Lunati with an extra key-way cut by Lunati for the blower configuration. |
Cuddy filler piece and the AC came in handy this year.:D
