CMI 496 Headers versus Rage/Heat corner exhaust
CMI says 469 Sport Tube header kit comes with all the necessary custom parts to relocate the engine components except for the connection between the headers exhaust to an existing exhaust plumbing such as that in the current Rage and Heat boats.
For a do it your self'er any guidance on how to get the header to exhaust transition piping made acquired fo a 2005 Nordic Rage or Heat? Any issues with the other CMI parts for the retro fit to a 486HO? |

Re: CMI 496 Headers versus Rage/Heat corner exhaust
You'll have to get CMI to custom make you some tails. The headers that most of their distributors are stocking are made to exit out the stock bravo location. Like LIOPA said the custom tails are going be alot more jack.

Re: CMI 496 Headers versus Rage/Heat corner exhaust
Rage,
I recently looked at a Heat with a Viper V-10 and the new style exhaust. The long runs and sharp turns don't look too efficient to me, although it does look good (cosmetically) from the stern view. If I was trying to get the best flow, I would reroute the exhaust in a direct path out the transom. It will be simpler and less expensive. You can cap off your existing through hulls, or glass up the holes. Regards, Steve |
