Help with the bow light???
I'm hoping some of our Nordic owners can help me out.
I'm repainting my Baja and wanted to trick it out in the process. One way I would like to try is by using Nordic's navigation light set up. I have purchased what Nordic refers to as the "light kit". It consists of the two colored lenses, two bulbs, and four terminal bases for the bulbs. We figure we can french the glass into the bow but not sure how to make sure it adheres to the boat. I figured there would be some sort of fixiture that would mount to the inside of the hull but that is not the case. Any ideas on how to get the glass to adhere to the hull? I don't want the lens to pop loose during rough water pounding. It just looks like it we epoxy the lenses to the hull they won't stay for long. Any adivice, or help will be greatly appreciated. DayTripper You could have saved all this trouble by just buying a Nordic :D ............I went from a H2X, BTW, to a Heat, and I love it. Re the bowlight, mine is so seamlessly installed, I thought it was installed in the mold. Since you've bought the light, you probably have the Nordic factory # (928-855-7610 if you don't). I would just ask them how they do it. Regards, Steve |
Re: Help with the bow light???
I think that the lenses are held in with some type of adhesive. When I bought mine one of the lenses was loose and the dealer put it back in with some type of epoxy.

Re: Help with the bow light???
Thanks for the info.
I may end up chickening out.... I'm concerned about just what happend to your application coming loose, and that was factory installed. Like Steve stated; it looked like it was installed in the mold. That has me concerned to try it myself on another brand of boat. I have since ordered "cat eye" lights from Dana and will most likely use those as they mount with screws from the outside of the hull. Anybody in the market for a Nordic bow light kit??? I have one for sale................ It consists of two lenses, two bulbs and four terminals for the bulbs. |

Maybe this will help with your decision weather to install or not.......
I guess I would also be a little concerned if your angle on the Baja will be the same as the Nordic`s......... BTW the picture is of my 06 Heat being buildt |

Re: Help with the bow light???
I'm going with the "cat eye" lights from Dana Marine. I got them in the mail yesterday and they will work fine. Not as trick as the Nordic but much easier to work with.
My Nordic light kit is for sale. If interested, make me an offer. |
