Nordic 35 flame
How much wood is used in the construction of the hull in
the 35 Flame? Does the hull hold togheter in the ruff stuff without fiberglass cracks or blisters ? I am interested in buying a 35 flame. How is it compared to Donzi 35 ZR they ave the same speeds I believe? |

Re: Nordic 35 flame
I read in a test that the 35 only runs fairly in rough water!
What do they mean does it not have a sharp bow entry? or how does it run compared to a Donzi 35 ZR? |

Re: Nordic 35 flame

But the Donzi does run 92-93 with 525's. The Nordic isn't any faster than that, I believe. |
Re: Nordic 35 flame
344 with 525's runs about 95 and is sick in the ruff water!
Dan you and your dad goin to claudios on the 21st |
Re: Nordic 35 flame
Im pretty sure were going. Were not sure which boat to take if they're both ready though. Probally the Cig, by then the Hustler could be sold.

Now price out the boats discussed..........They are about the same in quality/construction and performance .....cabin space in the Nordic is far larger than the others (both headroom and width......the best value for the money I believe would be the Nordic. As far as speed 1.3 MPH is not a big difference in my opinion.....and for thousands less you also get in gelcoat graphics design and a lot more room in the cabin area. Drive the boats and then price them out with similar option and weigh the value for your money. |

Have not looked back, nor should you. The bottom line is buy what makes you happy, both are great boats and both owners like there brands. Its all about having fun. A good day boating with either boat is better than a great day at work!

Re: Nordic 35 flame
I too looked @ A 344, before I bought our 35 Flame! I like the looks of the Hustlers, especailly the 388, BUT the cockpit and cabin in the 344 was just too small for our liking and family. I read somewhere that of all the Hustlers, the 344 was the best design! Bang for Buck, I think you would be hard pressed to beat the Nordic 35' Flame! I think the Donzi 35 ZR is a good looking boat also.

Re: Nordic 35 flame
I don't put much weight in anybodies claims
about how fast their boat goes. But I defy anybody to find PUBLISHED tests that demonstrate that power for power the Hustler 344 is faster than the Nordic 35. They're so close that it doesn't really matter in the tests I've seen, individual setup and driver ability could make the difference. They're both excellent boats. I would rather have a Nordic because I live in the southwest and their factory is a lot closer. If I lived in the northeast I'd probably own the Hustler. I doubt few people have more hours on a Nordic 35 than me: 400. For the last 3 years we've run it in the Catalina ski race, run several poker runs at Havasu each year. Wish Mercruiser stuff had the durability of a Nordic hull. Oh yeah, one last note. Have a friend with a 33 Donzi that developed a flaw in the bottom that water was seeping into the boat. I told him he needs to get the boat out of the water and fix it pronto. His reply was something to the effect that it was no big deal, the Donzi has a composite core. I proceeded to explain to him (and it probably fell on deaf ears) that water destroys everything it comes into contact with. Composites are not immune. Whether a boat is good or bad has nothing to do with wood or composite. You can build good, and bad, boats either way. Pesky Varmint |

I've been on "Sick Nordic" in the rough and thought it rode great. The boat ran 90 with 4 people onboard with full fuel. I've got a 28 Nordic and love it. They do all their graphics in the gel coat and it is well executed. In my opinion the Flame looks way better than the Hustler. Cabin space is good and the cockpit isn't bad either. Nordic has some pretty unique designs that set it apart from the others. Check out the "frenched in" bow light and the telescopic anchor light. They also have a pretty cool cabin door. Gel coat graphics are the way to go and they will do pretty much anything you come up with. Besides - everyone has a donzi - don't you want to be different
