anyone going to the OSS Worlds in Destin?

Hi Guys,
I'm leaving for Destin for the OSS World Championships in the morning :D ...........
Are any of you going? Maybe we can hook up for a cold one and some bench racing :drink: .
Unfortunately, I am not taking the boat, but several of my friends are. I've never dunked the HEAT in the salt, and not sure I want to.
Regards,
Steve

Hey Steve

Back in the old days the Indians and the Pilgrams claimed that salt was a preservative. They used to use it to keep their meats fresh. Bring the HEAT - Take a dunk.

Races were a LOT of fun, as were the extra curricular activities :drink: @ AJ's and elsewhere.
The big pond (ocean) is now nicknamed Lake Loseyourcookies  , and the intercoastal is now nicknamed Lake Flaccid  :D ..................
Pictures to follow ASAP.
Regards,
Steve

Gary,
I understand as a former drag racer, different sanctioning bodies in different parts of the country. BUT, couldn't these guys get together for a unified World Championship for the sake of the sport and the fans?!
They are shooting themselves in the ass as usual. Imagine how big this would have been had both groups been at the same venue!
Oh well, what the hell do I know...............
Regards,
Steve

Agreed Steve, On a positive note, took a trip to the Nordic factory this past week. New owner is making big changes, all for the better I might add.

Saw the new 32 & 42' Cats and yes, it's a WOW! Hit the recall on the 42' vee, saw 111.

Got a new 35 coming for the Spring...doing some trick stuff with it should be cool.

Take care

Nordic Gary, I have been interested in the 35 Flame. Do you have any info about the changes they are making ? Are they going to make these changes where they can call this boat an off shore boat as they do not list the 35 as an off shore boat. They list it as a v hull. Also, what is the current degree of dead rise and will that be changed ?

Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Viper,

You won't find Nordic making many changes to the 35 Flame hull. Since early refinements back in 1999,the hull has been one of the best performing 35's in the industry. Deadrise at transom is 24 degrees, however, the double stepped bottom has a variable deadrise (hope this answers your question).

In regards to to your question on boat classification, I'm not sure what deliniates Off Shore from Vee. I do know that the 35 Nordic with 525's is a difficult value to beat. I have owned two and just ordered my third.
