Decision Due Monday

Hey Nordic friends, need some advice. Ordered new 35 (see attached photos) trying to decide on rub rail color. Nordic offers both white and black. Going with the stainless insert, not sure which color would look best.

Any thoughts?

I'm not exactly an artist. But does this help?

Sorry But I spilled a little white paint on the front of your boat. Hope it comes off!

39 Unlimited 02-25-2007 09:51 AM

Thanx Raytart, that really helps. Looks like white it is..

I think white also. Are you sure about the stainless insert. I would be afraid of dents if it bumps on the dock. With the rubber insert it would get scuffed and scuffs come off with acetone. Just my 02

I still like the black...... blends better with red and there is also some black in the grapics from what I can see or is that dark blue?

Nice work Raymond :drink:

raytart 02-25-2007 12:14 PM

Yeah

They both work well.
I orig liked the black too.
Looks like the grey metalflake is outlined with black. So either will work. What color is the steering wheel?

The wheel will not be seen against the rub rail color either from inside or outside the boat at any time maybe docked yes but thats it.

Black will also not fade, get yellow from overfilled gas, or scuff marks that show from docking.....at a toss up black always wins because it shows less wear over time......also looks great after vinyl protectant is applied.:drink:

How about white powder coated bow rails in place of the stainless. Then the white rub rail will look mint.

The colors are red with slight rainbow pearl, gray fade and black pins. The steering wheel is a gray Livorsi mono.

I think black with SS insert so it don't stand out and take away from your graphics. If it was mine I'd have a black cockpit cover and trailer to set off the color. Just wishing!!!!

Now that I've got a new tool to play with I'm gonna change everything. Maybe I can change it to an Outerlimits.

raytart 02-25-2007 05:58 PM

I'd stick with the white.

boatingbent 02-25-2007 06:46 PM

Hey that Black looks like Chit on mine.......

I say go with the white for sure

I go for white as well. Good idea on power coating the rails to match the rub. I would get the the rails white also.

You were talking about getting neon put in. I would put one under each seat as well.

Yeah the neaon looks great.....I have seen a number of boats with it and really looks coll.......also LED spots look cool too....brighter than neon and less issues with installing the power units to drive the neon....actually COSTCO has a multi focus set of 3 LED disks with 5 LEDS in each puck for 12.00....they work off AA bats and are applied with VELCRO...real fast install....easy maint and you can put them anywhere you want....cabin /engine bay/under seats etc. We tried them here for boats show displays and they work great.

I think white looks pretty, and black looks aggressive. I had the stainless insert on a Baja, and although it looks good with polished stainless deck harware, it is prone to dock dings.
Sharp boat Gary, I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Found these guys at the Miami boat Show http://www.ledsforboats.com/
Nice sealed strips, easy to mount.

Noticed that many manufactures are using these. I'm putting them in engine compartment, side panels and cabin in conjunction with the standard cabin lighting.

I say no hand rails and have pop up cleats
