Video of 540 for a Rage

Here's a link to a video of the dyno run for the engine I just finished destined for TXINSTIGATOR's 25 Rage. It's currently at 8 PSI boost. I'll be dropping it to about 6 for the final setup.

I was shooting for about 850-900 to begin with. I never expected that kind of power. I would like to get it around 900.

NICE JOB.......:drink:

All I can say is THANKS BOB!!! When we started this project I never thought we would get this kind of horse power. I can't wait to get it in the water. Bob still has about a month of work to do to get it complete. We will post numbers after we get it on the water. Not sure if I will ever have the *&ll's to open it up all the way, if I do it will be posted here first. I think a drive will be the next upgrade.

Damn, I should have done that one in my chevelle :D :D

Hey, Bajarunner. I built a couple of supercharged 383's that dyno'd at 555 HP at the flywheel. I installed them in the boat and they dyno'd at 490 at the prop. So, the drives are eating a lot more than the 30 HP everyone thought. Using this as a comparison, your 510 at the prop translates to about 560-570 at the flywheel. That's about what we were expecting. I'll be doing a comprehensive test to verify drive loss shortly and will post the results.

If that goes in a 25, someone better have a lot of life insurance.

TX_Instigator 03-06-2007 07:54 PM

I think I'm good for a 1/2 a million. Might be why my wife let me do the motor work. LOL!!

bobl 03-08-2007 09:31 AM

Got the final dyno numbers. We changed pulleys and got the boost down to 6 PSI. It made 913 HP at 5600 RPM. It made 899 at 5000 RPM, so we don't need to spin a ton or RPM to get the power. I think that is good and should live reasonably well.

Nordicflame 03-08-2007 09:51 AM

Perfect!! :D

Upgrade that drive to XR gears immediately...
$1300 vs $7000:eek:

My old X drive gave it up at WOT with the similar package within two weeks :(

Nice work Bob!!!

Bob,
Very impressive #s. With that flat HP curve, it will be easy to prop, and easy on parts (excluding the drive:rolleyes: ).
Awesome man:cool: !

Steve
