Bob , was the 150hp increase just do to the JV head work or was there other mods as well that contributed?
I made a lot of changes so there's no way to really say what made the difference. I lowered the compression from 9.5 to 8.5, had a custom cam ground and of course the head work. I also ported the throttle body quite a bit. Before the throttle body mods it made just slightly more HP than before. So, it would appear the cam and head work offset the compression reduction. Then I was able to increase the boost to get back to where I was, compression wise. |

Bob,
Great #s for the conditions:cool: ! Sounds like there's plenty left. What prop were you running? See you at the Jamboree! Regards, Steve |
Anyone else notice that on all the pics of the gauges, it seems only the speedo is working? Weird...
|
That's because it is a GPS speedo with recall. Just flip a switch and it shows the maximum speed you hit. A lot easier to take a picture of that than when you are running 90+MPH.

I did a little more testing yesterday and got some data. It ran 92.2 right at 6000 RPM with the 29 P5X. Smooth water, 90 degree temp, 2 people, full fuel. I think I'm going to order a 32 B1 and try it. I'd like to get the rpm to around 5800.
