Flame owners..Fuel Tank(s) Question

I was under the impression that the side tanks in our boats were the same 43 gallon tanks used in the Heat.
I'm finding this not to be true in my case. I can't get more than 30 gallons in the saddles after running them out.
We just put on ~275 miles on Lake Powell this past weekend and the side tanks run down very quick. It seems I can run forever on my belly tank.
I was just wondering what you've experienced.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I can only get 33 gallons in the side tanks. According to Nordic, there were a couple different sizes they used in those side tanks. I can get about 90 galons in the belly tank.

Thanks Linnie...

Hope all is well!

Specs say it holds 180 gallons. Funny, I have owned three 35's and never actually checked.

Now I know why they empty so fast!

When I use the side tanks which is rare, I burn them off first, then that tells me if I am not half way there, I plan a fuel stop. Had the boat up at the river this weekend, only the third time out this year. Had a great time on Saturday but got caught up with work again on Sunday. Have it back to stock, runs good.

All is well Dave, thanks. When are you coming to VA again?

Anyone who comes to VA needs to check out the river house. Still a work in progress, but coming along. Great location, just working a lot to get it fixed up.

Linster, why did you bring your 575 EFI's back to stock? Reliability, issues, resale value??? Inquiring minds want to know. What sort of speeds are you seeing now? Thanks for the information.

I was getting tired of trying to catch more speed. After the first year of the upgrade the boat went from 88 to 93. I decided to swap out cams to one that was suppose to add 50 more lbs of torgue. Boat slowed down to 91. The program could not work well with the upgrade and the thing would stall some. Did not want to Dyno again due to costs. Never ran it wide open last year so I sold all the upgrade parts went back to stock. Runs 88 as before, maybe 90 on great conditions.

My attitude is that since it cruises comfortably at 70, even
at high altitude Lake Powell with a full camping load, without switching props, I'm happy.

We saw 95 once. Never tried to dial the boat in or anything and have had 6 years of pretty good dependability.

Like they say, the girls can't tell how fast the boat goes, but
they can tell when it doesn't run.
