Default High Speed Pulling Empty Trailer=Tire Damage???

I have a tandem axle for a 3700+ pound 25 foot boat that I would like to pull empty about 500 miles total @ ~70 mph. I am concerned that the the tires may suffer uneven wear from tire hop / bounce with the trailer unloaded which could produce uneven tire wear / cupping.

Anyone had any experience pulling an empty boat trailer under these conditions? Any tire issues as a result?

I've done it. Don't recall any issues.
Shouldn't be a problem if your tires are properly inflated, no dry rot, and keep an eye on the wheel bearings and lug nuts.

If it's a Nordic trailer, don't worry about it...those bastards are heavy enough by themselves...if it's aluminum, I would take it a little easier.

I just put 2 and 2 together. We were the Searay tied up 2 or 3 boats down from you last week at Tablerock. I think it maybe Bob's Flame, Mark's Heat and maybe Brian's Lightning was between us. I recall Nordic was well represented on that side of us.

Hey Bent we always enjoy getting together with your group. I was only sorry that we could only say down at the lake for a short time while you all were there. It was a last minute deal for us when the delayed parts finally arrived that Saturday and I could then get the engine back together and pull the boat down to the lake. Hopefully you guys will be back again next year.......or maybe sooner.
