There is a Nordic dealer in the St Louis Metro area named Grunningers.

jns 07-28-2008 05:54 PM

Grunningers is where I bought my Heat. 72k I believe is price without trailer. They are in Pontoon Beach ILL just across the river from STL.
Clark Grunninger is the owner.

Great information

I like the Donzi because they are all composite construction and of course, their reputation for making a very solid boat. I like the lines in the Nordic better and they seem to have more room. Also, the 28 Donzi is a twin, which has its positives and negatives.... The new Heat at least 2K lbs lighter also which makes towing nice.

My wife likes the more modern look of the Nordic boats and some of the graphics schemes. We'll see. I'm still overseas and am on hte fence right now. Should I buy while I'm here or wait until I get back? If I wait until I get back, then I may not have much to choose from in the 2008 Heats, plenty of the Donzi boats. On the other hand, there re sure to be some 2008 leftovers at a great deal in the off-season.

We'll see what happens.

What year is your Heat? Also, which options did you go for? I'm trying to compare apples to apples when looking and have seen as much as 20K in price difference from coast to coast with new Heats.

Thanks

Since I'm a Nordic owner I won't express my preference
because I would readily be accused of being biased.

Well, you own a Nordic instead of a Donzi, so what were the compelling reasons to choose the boat you have right now, biased or not? Thanks for the information!!

Tim, any insight as to when I should buy? I can understand your perspective to sell what you have in stock, but in my position, what would you recommend? Based on what I mentioned a few posts earlier...

OCM 07-30-2008 11:09 AM

Thats a tuff one! Once you find a boat that you like, and your ready to buy. I would say have all of your ducks in a row,and bring a real offer to the table.
( I hope that helped alittle)

Steve,

I will personally vouch for the fact that both Kevin and Tim of OCM are absolutely awsome to work with. Tim especially.... is just a great guy, and a straight shooter.

PilotSteve,
Our 06 Heat is stock. 496 HO, Trim tabs, OBMC, Remote stereo controls, stainless grab rails behind bolsters (Must get these) Not sure what else may be optional?
My next one will have innerliner in floor and snap out carpet, no wood, 525, (Doesn't need it, but I want it!) and a better paint job on trailer. (or made of aluminum since I would be keeping it longer.)
I will say that if the trailer paint quality has not been improved then buy a tailer somewhere else.
I also like the looks of the new NexStep folding ladder. Sharp!
We have considered a flame MCOB but still like to tube/ ski and fear it will be too clumsy for that. Also the Heat is very easy on gas IMO! Plus my Burban may not handle the Flame as its a 1/2 ton?
I would post pics but my membership has expired??
Mine may be for sale after this season if we can decide what to replace it with?
Decisions??
Stopped at Checkmate yesterday and they have true 28' MCOB now too. Worth taking a look at. They are also offering it with outboards too which really opens up the area behind the bolsters. One I saw had four stand up bolsters and then still had the bench. With twin 350 Verados you are looking at mid 80's they claim. Also supposedly 40% more fuel effcient? Sounds like a stretch to me.
My two cents!
Jeff

Unlimited,
Does the 07 Flame an enclosed head?
Considering looking at a 32 Sunny next weekend for this reason alone.
Also is it open or closed bow?

The 07 Flame is a closed bow and does NOT have a head only the storage closet. Sorry. Beautiful boat though.

Thanks for the feedback. I just sold my boat today. I am going to be on the look out for a good deal. I'm not hurting to buy anything right now, but I know I will be wanting something come summer time.

Take care guys!

I've got an '08 Flame open bow that I would consider selling.

Why are you selling? What power do you have? Pics?
From what I saw on some earlier posts the Flame OB looked a lot larger than the Heat?
I still hope to make it to the factory and the LA show this year!
Nordic has by far the sleekest, best looking lines of any boat I can find...

bobl 10-30-2008 09:13 AM

I'm a Nordic dealer. I've been using it as a demo. It's currently not titled, so it's still a new boat. It's really not officially for sale, but I would be willing to sell it (I'll order another one). It has 496 Mags. I've seen 77 mph on gps.

They use the 28 open bow section for the 35, so it's the same size. It just has a huge anchor locker up front.
