Silent choice on a Heat

has anyone ever seen silent choice on a heat? i talked to someone at nordic last week and he said they have done it at the factory but he didn't have any pictures. i know i'll have to move my tailpipes up but i was wondering if anyone had seen it and if so, could provide transom pictures

thanks
Ned

Hi Ned,
You can install Teague switchable (ST450s) exhaust tips. Just pull your current tips and install the Teagues in their place.
Much easier and less expensive.
That's what I have on my Heat.

Steve

Steve,

do the switchable tips make a big difference? i had silent choice on my old boat and it was substantially quieter when going through the prop.

thanks
Ned

Good question.
I think they cut idle noise about 25%. Not much, but there really isn't much exhaust flow at idle for them to restrain (my theory anyway).
At midrange RPM, say 3500, they do make huge difference, probably in the neighborhood of a 50% reduction in DBs.
The downside is they become very restrictive at higher RPMs and I always turn them off.
I still like them for slow cruising, at night, and around marinas, so they fit my needs.
Regards,
Steve
