Maybe the Nordics are just so good..... that nobody has anything to talk about.

Chris

P.S. I love my boat! :ernaehrung004:

Been out on the water -- that's why not here.

I've come to the conclusion that October in South Central Texas -- is one of the best boating months of the year. Mid-80's every weekend, fair skies, light breeze. Fantastic.

Took a 55 mile round-trip down Lake Travis this past Sunday, almost all the way to Marble Falls. Awesome.

Forecast is the same this weekend.

So, still here....still boating....all good.

Kenny I know you'll show somewhere in the Keys. Are you going?

I'm done for the season. Last weeks "Hot Toddy Run" was my final ride. Hoping to have one more good time before putting the boat away for the winter. I figured this would be a great way. Well... Just about at the end of the first leg of the run, one of the boats had mechanical issues (not sure what) and lost control. The driver and the passenger were ejected and the passenger died from his injuries. It was not a good season for performance boaters. Me personally had a good season with the exception of having to recon my prop 3 times. Long Island South Shore sucks. The water is not very deep in lot's of places. Luckily the bottom is muddy. I like to take short cuts and if the tide is low.... Your prop shop will be jumpin for joy. Until next season...

You went right past my house. I'm at marker 49. There is still another 15 miles of lake but it's too shallow with the lake down.

Just spent a few wonderful days in 85* calm weather on Lake Mead! Great friends, weather and boating!! Nice way to end the summer.

Now it's time for the pea shooter 496s to evacuate my bilge in favor of some 588s :evilb::evilb:

Dave
That sounds interesting.

So thought again occured to me, while running WOT yesterday late afternoon from the dam to the marina I'm slipped in -- that my GPS (and ego) are growing tired of seeing 64.3 MPH best speed. Since day #1, that's been the reliable top end.

That said, I still marvel at the reliability of these pea-shooter 496's. 250 hours and still running strong as ever.

BTW, 89 octane dropped to the bargain basement on-the-water price of $4.69 here at Travis. Dock guy said they'd be dropping the price "significantly" within the next 2 weeks. We'll see.

Nordicflame 10-27-2008 08:06 PM

Yes Dave,
The reliability and even the economy is something I'm going to miss I suppose. (I do however expect the 588s to be just as reliable)
I change the oil in the Spring and the dipsticks never move at all. No leaks and no issues since 2002.

Hope the new throttles feel worth it :evilb:
