So the R-tech boat is a consistant 99+ mph boat. That is awsome!
Can you give me some details on the motor, outdrive, and prop setup? Chris |
My 28 OB ran 95 gps. That was 700 ft. elevation and 95 degree temps. Never got to run it in better conditions. It had an FTM 900EFI, ITS and XR drive with 1" drive spacer. 29" Hydromotive P5X prop. That's the way it was when I sold it. Don't know if the new owner did anything else with it or not.

I am considering a Heat for my next boat, but having a 25' cat that runs 100+ very easy I'm worried about going slow.
What are the approx speeds with the 525, 600sci, 710 ILMOR? Anyone know? I think 85+ would keep me happy. The Heat seems like a great all around boat. I bet the carbon/kevlar 710 Ilmor would run great.... |

Averages:
525 = 74-77 600 = 79-82 - my boat and one other - only two in existance so far 710 = 85-88 - Southocg's - only one in existance so far The difference between a 525 and my 600 is that my boat will do 79 with 5 adults on board, wherin a 525 will only do about 72-73 with 5 adults. I think that a Heat with a Merc 700 and a NXT drive would be awsome! Chris |
My 500efi ran 70-74gps in a 2004 heat

Thanks for all the info guys! Takes a lot of power to get a good topend number on this boat, but you can't beat the look and space in the cabin.
Any chine walking or anything at high speeds? |
The heat is an awsome handeling boat, with no bad-manners that I can tell. Drives like it is on rails, through just about anything.
Just curious? Referancing your Hp per speed comment... other than a Howard Bullett, what 28's are alot faster with comperable horsepower? And yes... the mid cabin is awsome on this boat Chris |

I had a detuned 757hp in my cat the first season and it still ran over 100mph no matter the load. It got me spoiled. I am ready to have a stabin cabin and cheap (er) insurance, but anything slower than 80mph would drive me crazy. |
