Just as a referrence. I've got an old 29 Fountain race boat here at the shop. Just built a 750 HP supercharged engine for it. It runs low 90's. This boat is totally gutted and an extremely light layup. With 770 HP my 28 Heat was about 5 mph slower.

And your Heat had a complete mid-cabin, and was an open bow... which we know from experience is about 2 mph slower than a closed bow Heat.

My 600sci runs a consistant 80-81 mph... and is an open bow.

Would be cool to build one with the new SCX drive and my 572 solid roller blower motor.......but damn I'm tired of working on stuff all the time.

I was driving the yellow boat on the ohio river when it went 103 on gps, so it is true. I live in Florida now but was told it has gone faster.

I've still got the video of that boat. It really inspired me to build my 28 Heat.
