We found the 5 blades at standard drive height tend to get a little (or a lot) squirrley at over 90. 30 and 32 Bravos are rock solid at 94-100mph. This particular Heat also hated the spacer.
Go figure
I've come to the conclusion that no two Heats are a like :)

Also you should be able to eliminate chine walk with props and spacers. Tabs would only be a luxury on this particular Heat. I say that because there was never a hint of even remotely needing them.

Chris,
give me a call at the office tomorrow.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

Thanks, I will give a call tommorow.
I only have the one number, and I left a message for you on it earlier this evening, before I got home and read your e-mail.

Thank you again.

Hey Chris,

Stopped by OCM this past Thursday and checked out your boat, awesome! Really liked the clean graphics, also like your WOT numbers.

Congrats

Gary

Thanks Gary,

I kind of like things clean and simple looking. The word classy comes to mind.

Having it haul ass isnt a bad thing either.

John,

I am always thinking about going faster.
I think it is some sort of incurable desease. :ernaehrung004:

Tim,

Not a problem...

I will just trade you straight across for that big, fast, 34 ft thing you have sitting in your shop.

Steve,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you ever tried "no spacer" with your IMCO lower?
With a Bravo prop?
With a P5x ?

Or did you just try the no spacer thing when you had the Merc lower?

I ask, because I have found that the IMCO lower is faster and more efficient (less prop slip) than the Merc lower on our boats.

Chris,
Slip in the high teens (Imco lower) to 20% (stock XR lower) with Bravos and no spacer. Never worked regardless of prop mods, like more cup to lock them up, midrange inefficient.
The P-5X did work fairly well with no spacer (Imco lower), @ stock X dimension. Never ran it with the XR gearcase.
Interestingly, it (the 5 blade) still seemed happy with the spacer (13% slip), so I left it in so I could run 4 blades too. Excellent acelleration, lift, midrange efficiency, not weight sensitive, good top end (93 @ 6000 best with your 28") and handling.
With a very tired motor at the end of last season, it ran 91 @ 5900 with your 28" P5-X, and 91 @ 5650 with a stock 29" P5-X. I'm looking forward to testing my T/U blueprinted 29" P-5X with a fresh motor this spring. I'm also going to test some Bravos and 4 blade Hydros. Will keep you guys posted as I get some results......
Regards,
Steve
