heat range
what sort of range can you get with a heat and a 525 assuming cruising speed of whatever heats cruise at ;)

That is a good question.
What is the range for Rages, Heats, and Flames It would be interesting if everyone on here would respond, stating their boat setup, how much fuel the boat carries, engine setup, prop, cruising rpm, cruising speed, and cruising range I will start: My open bow Heat with a modded 600sci, I believe the boat carries 90 gallons, 29 pitch Hering or 30 pitch P5-x, 3000-3500 rpm, 38-43 mph. Aproximately 280 miles. I did 144 miles out on Puget Sound, and my fuel guages were on 1/2 tank each, just before I pulled the boat out of the water. I filled the boat before embarking on my adventure. Chris |

-Ross But about a month back I tryed one of those smart gauges sc-1000 from Merc. at 3200-3500 rpm 38mph 16.6 gph at 4000 rpm 60mph 27.7 and wot 5000rpms 75mph 43gph. that with a weekends load water,50gals gas and stuff. We run kinda heavy all the time we use our boat and have LOTs of fun. Nordic is a great boat. Clinton |
Dang....I use apx. 2 MPG as a benchmark.
90 gals x 2 = 180 miles. Max. How getting 280 miles on a tank? |
I ran from Glen Cove LI to the Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges through Hells Gate down the East River to the tip of NYC where the Twin Towers once were, up the Hudson under the George Washington Bridge to the Harlem River, down the Harlem River back to Hells Gate and then back to the Long Island Sound to Glen Cove. Great Ride and at fairly good speed. Didn't even use 1/2 tank of fuel. (which is one tank) Heats hold 86 gallons.

Spinning a 30 pitch, 5 bladed Hering, at 3000 rpm nets me 44 mph aproximatley. I went from Everett Washington to Port Angles Washington, which is out on the North West tip of the US. 68 miles each way on salt water sing my Garmin GPS . I used 1/2 tank getting there, and 1/2 tank coming back. 68x4 = 272 miles. This is unless the guages are very unlinear.
