Nordic Escape on the cover...
of the November Powerboat Mag. Beautiful boat in search of a motor. I know the company needs to keep the price down on these boats to sell them, particularly in this recession, but I would send them to Powerboat for testing with a blue motor.
The boat is very nice, but 62 MPH? Ouch........I would think that a new owner would get tired of being passed by every other performance boat (even some jetskis) on the lake pretty fast. Regards, Steve |
I've got that boat here at the shop. Sold it to a customer this summer. I think it's a major step up from the 28 in looks. It is a couple of mph slower than a 28 though. I've never even been able to reproduce the 62 they got in the test. In my opinion it definitely needs more power, however the current owner is perfectly happy with the speed. I guess not everyone is a speed junkie like us!

Did they get rid of the side tanks in this new model? I wonder if they'd ever consider a couple of small blocks for this boat?

which is good for business too :grinser010:........... Regards, Steve |
Yes it has a single belly tank. Don't know about the twins but the boat is light enough it should perform very well with a big single. I suspect it would be too tail heavy with twins.

The 2010 Heats will have a belly tank instead of the saddle tanks. Bet that will make them more stable at speed... a lower CG.
This is the second report I have heard of the 29 being slower than the 28. The 29 with the 600sci only does about 76 ish. It sure is a good looking boat though. It only comes in open bow, so it is aimed at a different crowd than the go-fasters. Chris |
