Anyone planning on Desert Storm in April?

My brother and I talked about it but with how bad work has been lately I can that would be a big fat NO. This is still one of my dreams to go and sit on the side lines and see the big boys go by.

Ya times are tough here too. Hope the tax man sends me enough to go. I'd like to participate, but we'll see. Maybe RV & Natural Light to keep it cheap.
A bad day at the lake is better than a good day at work.

I pass Vegas on my way down & certainly have room. Departure & return dates not yet set in stone though.

Your going to have a blast in your rocketship! If you have time try and check out the "Naked Pirate". It's up the lake past the sand bar, right on the other side of the bridge (not london bridge). It's a cool setup, nice sandy beach, outdoor bar, rock'in party. Be careful on the way in though, it is shallow! Last year there was a rock or something in one spot right in front of the beach. Hopefully that has been taken care of. I'll give ya a call when we're down there.

I'm guessin that's above Topock, maybe it's new. I only remember the marina bar there. Ya, that canyon can get scary. Last trip down, most was wakless, good thing I say.

I'm not taking the Rage, riding in a friends Baja.

Nordic had a nice display. They had two bad a** Thors, one was the green open bow in last months powerboat. There wasn't much else at the show, it was a lot smaller than last year.

We were at the Naked Pirate 2 weeks ago, the weather was great. Around 85 with lots of sun. Water level was nice, fairly high, no problem on the river or in the channel by the Naked Pirate. Larger boats had to be careful in parts of the city channel not to hit the seawall (not much beach). How do you guys hook up once you are in Havi? We are planning to arrive there Thurs nite.

Driving half tues night (Mesquite). Be there early afternoon wed. Probably hit water for a few wed, been a long winter & I'll be anxious

I think my head's already there, started packing. I always forget something first trip such as propellers, spare impellers, towels & so on.
Have never forgot the cooler though!

We will be hitting the highway Wednesday nite after my son's last exam. Yikes 24 hours at the wheel to get to Desert Storm before the poker run starts. What was I thinking? :lolhit:

Yep, bring it. Water's calm in the channel & you can watch from within the zoo, rather than outside the gate.:evilb:

I can think of very few things in life worse than being boatless at Havasu. Bring the boat.
