Stereo Upgrade
Hey Guys, Anyone got a good suggestion on a stereo on my heat? It has factory stuff and as you all know, it kinda sux. Want to upgrade to a nice stereo with speakers in the open bow and more in the cockpit. Nothing Extreme, just better. Anyone got pics? What about locations in the cockpit? I hate cutting holes, so I want to do it once and do it right. :drink:

I added a 4 channel amp. 2 for the back seat speakers, & 2 bridged into 1 10" sub. I mounted the sub to a carpeted board cut to fit & screwed over the storage hole under the open bow floor (facing into the cabin) thus using the boat itself as a box. I then added a nice powdercoated billet grill from rexmar matching gauge bevels. I can remove it & all is back to stock. Looks nice, I'll try to find pics. That left 4 channels of the deck itself to power cabin speakers & I added a couple 3.5" to the open bow below the seats. This required a hole saw, but saw no other way. Doesn't rock the beach, but huge improvement over stock, minimal money & holes cut. I may upgrade my amp this summer. Problem is Nordics placement of speakers. Can't hear them over the Whipple wine, but there's no music that sounds that good.

I just want to keep it simple like that. On the other hand, maybe I should save my money and buy the wipple for me and a new set of iphone earbuds for the old lady!! LOL

I posted some pictures on http://crowniehq.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1659 when I did my stereo in my Heat. 8 JL Audio 6.5", 4 10" JL Audio Subs, 3 amp, 3 batteries. She sure sounds good, but runs even better.

I wish I could but I never signed up as a paying member. Send me an email and I'll be happy to send you some.

I know this is old, but I finally figured out this picture thing.
Here's a pic of the way I added a sub without cutting anything. http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/8149/p4100001g.jpg |
