Just don`t make the same mistake I made ......I only get to my Boat one the weekends its on a lift 60 miles away .....Well I ended up just having Bblades send the test prop out on like a monday when I should have let them send it my way like on a Thursday then i would have had to weekends for testing instead of only one weekend .......Well It ended up that they allowed me to keep it the 2nd weekend anyways .....If I would have sent it back on Monday i would have gotten it back 2 Days to late ...But all that didn`t matter cause i ended up calling them Monday to let them know that i was keeping it .....

My 2010 Heat came with 28x15 maxiums and it ran good on top end but would only go 35 at 3000 and 46 at 3500 rpm's, so I got a 30p p5x and it runs the same top speed as the maximus did but runs 39 at 3000 and 49 at 3500 rpm's. Scott at mercury racing said to try a labbed 30x15.25 short tube maximus, so I got one from teague's last week before I went to Lake Havasu and I could not belive it ran 43 at 3000 and 53 at 3500 rpm's and it ran 1 mph faster at top speed than the p5x, these props have alot of cup out on the tip of the blade's to lift the bow out of the water. So far this has been the best prop on my boat.

What are you getting for top end with the labbed 30 Maximus and at what rpm?

Also just curious what lower unit you are running?

My drive is a stock XR, my top speed at Havasu after a Whipple stage 2 upgrade with the p5x was 88 at 5500 rpm's and the maximus was 89 at 5450, both prop's where very stabel at top speed, both test's where on the same day with tank full, cooler full, 2 people and 102 deg. day. I would love to see over 90, maybe having the p5x labbed might do it but I don't think it would have the same midrange as the maximus but I don't know. Two very good prop's for the stock drive heigth.
Looking forward to hear how your boat run's after you get your Whipple stage 6 going.

The best consistant boat speed I saw with a stage II was 92-92.5 mph with an occasional 93 mph blast. I could hit mid 91's any where..any time..any load. This was with a labbed 30 pitch p5x at 5650 rpm. The prop was labbed by Hering.

The fastest prop ever, was a Hering 29 at 94.1, but I could not replicate it, and the prop was not as good on the low end as the p5x. It is however about 1.5 mph faster than the p5x at just about all rpm's.

This was with no spacer installed.

How does your boat handle at speed?

So far, the best I have gotten the boat to with the stage VI is 95.7 mph, with more to go, but I had handeling issues.
I am going to have to set up the boat differently for these new high speeds, and have not had time to work on it.
The boat is now at Nordic in Havasu getting warranty work done.
I will let you know how things go when I get it back.

Both props are very stabel with no chine walking and carry the nose of the boat well. What did herring do to your p5x?

Made sure all the blades were exactly the same.. balanced it, and sharpened all the leading edges.
It picked up 100-150 rpm, and about 2 mph.

If you do this... ask to talk to Ben in Marysville Washington .. he is the production manager. Tell him to make your prop just like he did mine. Use my name as a referal .. you should get a better price ... he is a friend of mine.

As to your speeds...
I highly recommend that you get Dustin's larger inlet/outlet kit for the innercooler water, and run a seperate water pickup for the innercooler. As the system sits now, the innercooler is robbing water from the heat exchanger system, and the innercooler outlet is restricted down to 3/16 of an inch so as to keep water pressure in the rest of the system... this system simply does not work very well.

By using a seperate pickup for the innercooler, the entire motor runs cooler... you are then able to run an 1/8 inch smaller supercharger pulley than comes on the stage II, and get more horsepower safely.

Here are some new results. I was much happier this weekend.The boat hit 78 the very first time out. The lake had huge swells and I had about a 30-35mph tailwind. It was one of the scariest rides I've ever had in a boat. I didn't even watch the rpm or GPS, I just looked straight ahead and had a death grip on the wheel... LOL At the end of the ride the boat competely came out of the water twice.. DANGER!!

The wind finally calmed down as the day went on. Every other time out the boat would run 75-76 on pretty windy water. The water pic is 200 yards inside a cove, you can see the whitecaps out there behind the bouys. Doesn't look that bad, but it was nasty!!!

The B1 28 - 1" Spacer
3500 rpm - 51 MPH
4500 rpm - 59 MPH
5250 rpm - 76 mph

B1 26 1" Spacer
3500 rpm - 41mph
4500 rpm - 60mph
hitting limiter - 74 mph

The 26 was obviously very fast and responsive all over the rpm range.

I still want to try a 27 p5x pretty bad. What do you guys think??
