East Coast Regatta
Will there be an East Coast Nordic Regatta this year? If so where and when?
|
Im not sure there is going to be one other than at Havasue. Either way Ill still miss it, AGAIN, wont be stateside till Aug.

Hi Guys,
Wish you could have made last year's Nashville Regatta. No news yet. Nordic Gary, John, anything? Regards, Steve |
If no regatta this year we should all try to get together anyway. Gary and John have done so much for all of us over the years we should make a showing to let them know we appreciate them and we their back in hard times.
|
Gary & John have done a great job! They are the ultimate east coast Nordic dealer. Very good people!
|
I agree Gary, John, and UPM have been great for us east coast Nordic guys.
Would you guys be interested in an informal weekend get together in Nashville? We've got plenty of water, our lakes and river are at summer pool, and we're soakin' wet :drink:. Regards, Steve |
I'm interested. Sounds fun
|
Would depend when it is, but I would be interested.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. We are riding the economic tide but alive and kickin. Decided to take the year off from a formal event however, we most certainly look forward to seeing everyone on the waterways this summer.
Thanks again, look forward to seeing everyone this summer. NG |
Nordic get together in Nashville
Hello Nordic Navy,
Jeff Raley and I have been talking about having a Nordic get together in Nashville again this summer. We have a new marina on Old Hickory Lake called Blackjack Cove that is now open for business, and willing to help host the event. Blackjack Cove has great food, transient docking, bars, and live music on summer weekends. They also sell 93 octane gas at reasonable prices (it was 3.49 for 93 octane today, 4-25). They have plenty of parking, and their own ramp. We have looked over the summer calendar, and the weekend of June 11/12/13 looks like our best for fewest conflicts with holidays and poker runs. We'll organize some events like the downtown Nashville Run we did last year. Since this is not a Nordic and/or UPM sanctioned event, there is no entry fee. Just pay to play (food/hotel if you are out of town/dock space downtown and Blackjack) as you please. We certainly would like to have the UPM Crew and their customers join us, and any other Nordic dealers, as always. We also appreciate their past participation. All Nordic owners are welcome and invited to Nashvegas. Let us know if you can make it, including you local Nordic Navy people. I think we will have a great time with great people :drink:....... Best Regards, Steve |
Anyone going? I am thinking about it. Already have these days off, was planning on going to poker run at Lee's Ford Marina at Cumberland. If alot of people are planning on attending here, I will change my plans. Would like to meet alot of you fellow Nordic guys.

Sounds like a great idea Steve. I think that weekend works. Keep us posted.

Sounds like a great weekend to me! That weekend is also the weekend of the CMA Music Fesival Downtown. So it will be kicking here in Nashvegas! Brian and I are in, we are looking forward to it since we had plans and missed the Regatta last year. Steve, let me know if you need help with anything!

-Cora And thanks for the heads up on the CMA Festival. That's OK with me if we can still get the city dock. It will make for an even better party:drink:. Jeff is on vacation. I'll discuss this with him when he gets back. Regards, Steve |

Anyway...If I can get a boat in time, I might be interested in coming up there if I don't have any prior plans. |

Hey guys. I'm new around here, and from Alabama. I've been looking into getting a Nordic 25 Rage (closed bow), but so far I can't find one I like in my price range that isn't a million miles away.
Anyway...If I can get a boat in time, I might be interested in coming up there if I don't have any prior plans. Chief financial officer already vetoed this for this year. We have our first child coming in October. I don't know of anyone that has one for sale right now, Unlimited Marine in Somerset,KY had a pretty nice one a while back. :boat: |
Kenny O when I come down you can ride with me if you want to.

It's a pretty good sized lake, but it seems like lately the water patrol has been profiling high performance boats. |
Tell your buddy congrats for me. This is our first and we both are 38 yrs old, should be interesting. We are very excited.

East Coast Regatta
Hello Everyone from soakin' wet Nashville.
As you have probably seen (or been through if you are in the Nashville Nordic Navy), we have been hammered with the worst flooding since the dams were built to limit flooding on the Cumberland and Tennessee River chains. The Army Corps, who manages the dams on the Cumberland River and tributaries has called this a once in 500 year event. I hope it's that long before we have another one. Our downtown Nashville tourist district, the Titans stadium, OpryLand Hotel and Mills Mall, and hundreds of homes and businesses are under water. The lakes and river are a mess, and probably will be for a few more weeks. We usually recover quickly here from natural disasters (aka tornadoes), but this flood has really been tough. I estimate 95+ % of the flooded homes and businesses don't have flood insurance, because no one ever thought the water would/could reach these flood stages. Sorry for the lengthy explanation. I am letting you know this may have thrown a wrench into our Regatta plans. Maybe we can move it back? Stay tuned. Best Regards, Steve |
