Nordic Rage Speed Question
 

I have a 2001 Nordic Rage with a stock 454 MPI. I am wondering what other have seen for top speeds with either the stock 454 MPI or the 502 MPI.

pushes us to around 70 with seven of us and close to 75 with a couple of us and half full tanks

The 502 should run about the same as a 496 HO, generally low 70's. The 454 depends if you are talking about the 454 Mag(385 hp) or the 7.4 MPI (310 HP). I would expect the 454 Mag to run near 70 and the 7.4 mid 60's.

What is yours running?

Mine is the 454 MAG. It's running 68 currently on GPS. The motor is apart now due to very poor compression and poor leakdown. I should have checked it out better when I bought it! I've fixed the compression and am hoping for some good performance now as I have also done Tyler Crocketts 100HP upgrade kit. Thge engine will be running in a few days and hopefully in the water shortly after. Just looking for a baseline what it should have done stock.

Temper those expectations...
 

The Rage is one of the best power to performance packages available. 70's nothing to sneeze at and increased mph requires exponential $$$$$ spending. A lot of folks spend a lot of money trying to break the 70 barrier and our boats pretty much do it at will. I do understand though 75 makes one start thinking about 80.

My heat does 68 with a 496HO but I have a buddy with a rage that gets 83 with a 500efi (blue motor) and a 28P B1

i have seen 72.7 with two peps, 496HO and a 28p, on the 06 i recently sold...

[got a 94 scandia same as rage. 502 efi 1.36:1 outdrive. Runs 74 with full tanks. 26p mirage

What elevation are you running at?

mine runs at 454 385 hp and it runs at 68 with a bent prop
