If you run your boat on lakes you can afford to have it laid up light. But if you're running to Catalina and such you want a more substantial hull underneath you. Smart boat buyers know that 2-4s in the Pacific is far different than on Havasu.

BTW the last 42MTI I saw tested w/1075s ran 146 so you were right with one of the top cats on the market. You should run 155+ with the 1200s.

To answer CB-BLR's question it would not surprise me to see the 1350 boat run 170, maybe more when the dial in is done. It's a Skater bottom with a light layup.
