New 2005 Rage!
Hi All,
I just purchased a 2005 Rage with 133 hrs on it. It appears to be all stock. This is my first Nordic so I figured I would post and ask if anyone has any model-specific advice for me? Gottya’s? Things to do, not to do? Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, LE |
There is only one thing to watch out for with a Nordic, excessive amounts of fun and enjoyment! Congrats and post pics!!!

congradulations!!! nordics get ALOT of attention both at the ramp and in the water so be ready, some little footnotes for you, 1) run about 1/4 tank more fuel in the port side to keep boat level if running wide open 2)make sure no one hits your anchor light switch when engine hatch is open 3) when loading on trailer back in deep then pull out till you see top of fender barely poking out, doing this avoids the back floating off and catching the strake on the bunk 4) watch you knee's on that ski tow, it hurts, you will love this boat, btw which one did you get?

Congrats on a great boat...you will be getting a lot more attention, and it truely is one of the best in the 25' class. Have fun! Chris |

Don't you mean to run about 1/4 more fuel in the starbord or right side...since the prop spins clockwise...therefore rolling the boat to port?. I always keep my right tank about 1/4 more full to counteract this twist.

Hi Folks,
Thanks for the advice! Took the boat out for the first time at the weekend. Great boat for sure. It runs just a little over 70mph (on the clock) which is fast enough for me right now. It does get a lot of attention too. If I could figure out how to put a picture on here I would post a pic of it. @Blownhammer2000, not sure what you mean about “which one did I get”, it’s a 2005 Rage. Not sure if there is some other model number you are asking for. Another quick question; does anyone know where I can get a boat cover that covers that whole boat, not just the top? I’ve seen pictures of covers that drop right down to the ground and cover even the wheels of the trailer. Has anyone seen such a thing? Thanks again for all the help guys, very much appreciated. LE |
I am not sure where to get a custom cover for the Rage. I bought a "semi custom" cover off Iboats.com and it works very well as a secondary cover.
Pics are easy. You will have to upload to a site like photobucket or picasaweb or something. then you copy over the [img] code to the reply box, and BAM, all set. If you dont have an account you can email them to me ([email protected]) and I will upload them for you and post em. |

I did get it, I will try uploading it tonight (my time in Kuwait, afternoon for you) and hopefully my crappy interwebs work with me and not against me.

Beautiful boat! |
holy sh*t its my twin!?!?!:eekdrop: the only difference is mine is grey where yours is black, it is a badass colorscheme, i thought at first it was alittle too much for me but after i kept looking at pics and then it showed up i changed my mind very quick, quick footnote, the trailer is the base color white for all colors, you will realize how quick that white shows ALL the chips, good luck with it!

Did you mean "Blue" (not black) for the pattern or where you talking about the black parts around the main pattern? |

i saw yours on powerboatlistings, mine has the grey accents in the interior and on the edge of the flames, also the NORDIC on the swimplatform is grey, other than that they seem to be identical, i've seen some others that are close but not exact, subtle changes here and there, i didn't think nordic duplicated gel designs exactly |

Trying to figure out the best way to upgrade my system now. |
still factory for now, haven't figured out what i want, i'd sooner hear the 496 rather than music and it gets me by while rafted up somewhere, thought about two 10's in the rear bench but i'm not big on free air subs and nordic utilizes the space so well its hard to place a box anywhere, and i do not want the amps in the engine compartment, i am VERY picky and won't do it unless i have it 100% planned out and looking like a factory install on paper
|
Did you see my other thread where, I think it was 05Heat, posted up a set of pics where he installed 2 12" subs in the back bench. He replaced the bench with the box essentially, and it looked pretty darn good. That is what I plan on doing as well. Amps...not sure yet. I am running large amps and dont know where to put em yet. Good luck with all that :)

Yep, I saw the heat, he made a really good job of that. Lot of work though and I'm not sure I like the idea of chopping up my new boat. My biggest thing is speakers. I think I need some just at the back of the cabin somewhere so they can be heard when running (like the guy in one of the threads I saw that put them just in front of the fuel tank fills on the Heat). Not enough room there on the Rage though. Still looking for a good spot. On the amps; the best place (and easiest) on my boat I think is behind where the cooler sits (that's where the satellite box sits now). Away from the hot engine and out of site most of the time, but easy to get to when needed. |
This is the nicest install I have ever seen. Two 10's and I think 4 sets of 8's and one set of 6.5's and four tweeters.

Lotus Eater - Congrats on the new Nordic! Send me your email address and I'll shoot you over the pics of how I did my 2006 Rage openbow. I can hear my music at any speed now, and I did it all without giving up any storage space. I can also swicth the sound to play/or not play in any or all of the following 3 locations (cockpit, cabin, open bow) for when our kiddos are hangin in the cabin. I'm in Scottsdale so you could even come have a look at mine before diving into your project... Len - [email protected]

He seemed to be rather well off, like really really well off so i dont think it was money. I paid a little more than i should have but i looked for like a month and i was going insane looking at boats all day and it had all the options that i wanted and its dam near perfect, i paid 42k for it but its got a 5k stereo and GPS spedo and cockpit and bow cover and storage covers and still only has 140 hours and 90 of those hours are engine runtime only. Ill keep it for a couple years and then get a bigger one im sure Marc was a really nice guy, super easy to work with and it was a smooth transaction. |
That is good to hear. I am sure you will enjoy it in the seasons to come. Money will come and go, but enjoyment and memories will last a lifetime ;)
My wife and I dont drink and very few of our friends do either, so that is not an important part of boating for us. Going fast in a clean, sleek, sexy machine like a Nordic and enjoying the comforts of a well built boat is what keeps me going out time and time again. I would like to go bigger someday, but my wife may kill me at that point. I would love to get a Flame or an Inferno if I ever win the lotto lol. |
