I got tired of destroying SC lowers on my SCX drive...and found a used SCX lower...blue printed by Wilson...in the classifieds.

Testing to commence:

NIce. Any idea if a silent choice exhaust can be used on an SC or SCX drive? I did the coroplast under my bow cover BTW. Thx.

How many hrs were you getting out of the SC lowers?

A couple a season.

I have broken just about every moving part inside a SC lower....at least twice.

If I leave a 600 as stock how well do you think the xr1 lower will hold up?
What tabs did you install.
Sharp!

Sharp!

An XR drive will easily live behind a stock 600sci ... or a Whipple Stage III for that matter.

Dana 900 tabs...installed with the dead-rise...1.5 inches up from the bottom

Chris

P.S.

A stock 600 sci will want a 1" spacer between the upper and the stock length lower in order to reach its peak efficiency.

A stage III will want a .5" spacer.

Any updates? How did the boat handle with the SCX lower? Any speed loss or gain? How many hours do you have on the SCX lower now?

I am tired of breaking my SC drives also!

I have about 20 hours on the SCX lower now...without even a sign of metal on the magnets.

I am running it an inch higher than my SC lower...and am getting aproximately the same slip numbers.
Propshaft depth below the pad is now 2 inches....slip is aproximately 13% at top end.

My top speed went from aproximately 105mph to 103 mph...but with zero issues.

The boat handles better with the SCX lower.

Hope this helps.

Mid Cabin Open Bow

The open bow boats are typically slower than their closed bow bretheren.

Yeah...
I wasn't thinking clearly last night.
It came to me this morning as I was driving to work.
Don't know why. Out of no where it popped into my head. And I wasn't even thinking about boats

Thanks

Ray
