this is some good info, thanks,Louie. I have not tried the pointed nosed one...but the rounded nosed one is supposed to be an upgraded design. I bought my rounded one used here on OSO and it was already blueprinted by wilson. I run it an inch higher than my sc lower, and lost about 2 miles an hour...but have absolute reliability. Chris |

CB-BLR,
Do you know which lower the DCB F-34 ran the best with? Thanks, Joel |
Joel,
He ended up using the pointed lower...but did not truely give it a fair comparison as he ran the blunt nose with Maximus props only...and the Pointed nose lower with #6 props. He liked the #6 props better and did not want to switch propshafts back and forth to try each of the lowers with different props. I have learned that the blunt nosed lower channels more water to the prop than a SC lower, and needs to be run about 1" higher in order to acheive similar slip numbers. Hope all this helps, Chris |
Thank you CB-BLR
